Did you all have an oppotunity to see last night’s Worst Person on Countdown? available here.
In addition to the people who saw the clip on Countdown, that clip is now circulating througout the blogosphere and the internet. And let me add that no one except the usual deniers and apologists, cares that this graphic was on an “opinion show” since it was associated with the Fox News brand name and its label.

I see that AC360 beat Greta in the demo last night and Donny Deutsch had a big number, at least I’ve never seen him getting 500,000 viewers before.
Comment by Marty — March 28, 2007 @ 5:17 pm
What was the Lou Dobbs Special? And should MSNBC feel badly that they finished in fourth behind CNBC? CNBC had Deal or No Deal on. Scarborough actually beat Larry King in the Demo at the time. Not to mention, do you think it bothers NBC that one of MSNBC’s sister channels did better than them? It all goes to the same company
Comment by Randy — March 28, 2007 @ 5:34 pm
Yep 360 beat Greta….ALL ANNA NICOLE ALL THE TIME…will get you big ratings!!!!!! Quality is NOT an issue for CNN all of the sudden but of course the low IQ fans from the Anderspere will make excuses instead of being disgusted.
Comment by Cooperite — March 28, 2007 @ 5:46 pm
> it was associated with the Fox News brand name and its label.
Then I assume that the internet and the blogosphere are going to call for Olbermann to stop putting up ‘worst person in the world’ graphics. That would mean they will attack him for putting up the Sopranos logo and under it: Bush Family Values. I assume they will condemn him for putting up a graphic of a gunshot at the head of Rush Limbaugh.
After all these were allassociated with the MSNBC brand name and its label.

elmonica, what’s the problem? “Democrats Lesiglating Defeat in Iraq” should have been punctuated with an exclamation point, that’s all. Is there a question as to what they’ve enacted - summer ‘08, and the terrorists can declare victory. What is it about this action that you don’t understand?
Cooperite, since you’re such an erudite member of society, why are you hanging around a cable TV news board?
And Randy, Dobbs was at the prison where one of the convicted border patrol agents is incarcerated. He interviewed the prosecutor of the case (Johnny Sutton), other border patrol agents/management, and the families of the two incarcerated officers. He also had Reps. Dana Rohrabacher and Poe on, who are trying desperately to get these two agents freed. It was a great program, and thank God people like the two Congressmen, Dobbs and O’Reilly are working to get these men freed.
Comment by Missy — March 28, 2007 @ 5:56 pm
“Cooperite” only exists to bash AC360 and anyone who watches the show. And by the way, I don’t like that AC360’s covering ANS either, but that non-story is all over cable news, unfortunately.
Comment by Marty — March 28, 2007 @ 6:10 pm
Missy, do you know where the “mobile weapons factories” are that Colin Powell spoke of at the United Nations? Oh right, the same place those damned WMD stockpiles are….IN FAIRY LAND! So, you should have no problem admitting we’re only there to steal oil and install a puppet government, right?
Comment by Terance — March 28, 2007 @ 6:12 pm
Actually cooperite it bugs the heck out of me that AC360 has been covering the ANS story so much the past few nights.Bugs me even more to see it bringing in decent numbers. But to be fair to AC it wasn’t wall to wall coverage last night.Still too much in my opinion but not as bad as Monday night.
Did Nancy Grace not cover ANS story last night? Her numbers seem lower last night than what they have been lately.

What are you talking about Terance???
Mona - I fail to see what you are bragging about. Democrats in congress are indeed invested in and counting on America’s defeat in Iraq. And yes I already read your comment w/link in another post on here. Why do you feel the need to repeat yourself?

myview & marty: You guys are better analysts that yours truly.
When Cooperite said “ALL ANNA NICOLE ALL THE TIME,” I thought he was mocking Greta, who did the entire hour on Anna Nicole last night.
Comment by Ira — March 28, 2007 @ 8:10 pm
I can identify with those Anna Nicole Smith viewers. I really have not been that interested in this particular case. However, I followed every single minute of the Natalie Holloway saga, every minute of the O.J. trial and a number of conspiracy theories like Marylyn Monroe and John F. Kennedy, etc. I got slammed here the other day for my reference to one. My point is I find all of this interesting and so do many others or the ratings would not be so high for these real life crime dramas. So IMO why shouldn’t Anderson put something on his show that people want to watch!

I thought Greta started the hour with Tony Snow’s cancer.

Arthur, what is out of hand is your comment. Completely unnecessary. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the comment section.

Scroll down to “A note to Islamic Facists”, it is the big green box. Arthur, considering your thin skin, don’t.

What well known Republican Senator continually reminded America that elections have consequences?
Now unless Fox News is in favor of more roll backs of the constitution and possibly the appointment of Dear and Wise leader as King, I suggest you get over yourselves.
Comment by elmonica — March 28, 2007 @ 9:27 pm
Clearly for el, Arthur and Terance the truth hurts.
BTW, Terance, Bush has said from the outset that the U.S. absolutely will not take Iraq’s oil. It will stay with the Iraqis. It was your buddies on the left side of the aisle who were demanding we get part of the oil. Bush said no.
At least get your facts straight.
Comment by bigred — March 28, 2007 @ 10:11 pm
Johnny: Maybe the first 3 or 4 minutes were devoted to Tony Snow. The rest of “On The Record” was Anna Nicole which included responses to viewer emails from Dr. Purper and the toxologist.
Aunt Mary & Johnny: Greta is doing an excellent job covering this story but the wall-to-wall coverage should be reduced, at least until we get the DNA results for Dannielynn.

Clearly for el, Arthur and Terance the truth hurts.
Truth? You clearly can’t handle the truth - you wouldn’t recognize it if it bit you. I’m sick to death of the last few defenders of the little moron who has sent this country into a tailspin continuing to characterize the now-huge majority of AMERICANS who disagree with his pitiful, failed, monumentally STUPID policies as traitors and defeatists.
The idiot gets us bogged down in a purely OPTIONAL war, swaggers around like he knows what the hell he’s doing, destroys any good will the rest of the world may have had for us, debiliates our armed forces to the point that if we had to fight another war somewhere else, it’s not clear that we even could, and the people who object to his piddling away of all our resources are defeatists?
Wake up and smell the dead burnt bodies, morons. The only traitors here are the ones currently trampling on the constitution.

Thought this was a cable news blog. The US has no business in nation building and that’s exactly what it’s doing. FACT: People in the mid east can’t live in peace. All they’ve ever known is fightin in the streets like dogs. And it’s sad americans are dying. The money would be better spent over here in the US helpin the homeless and hungry.
Comment by Me — March 28, 2007 @ 11:02 pm
KO doesn’t support the troops and should stop obsessing over the Fact that BOs repeat still kills KO’s live program! and leave sean hannity alone!

“FACT: People in the mid east can’t live in peace. All they’ve ever known is fightin in the streets like dogs.”
What’s really sad is that there are so many people around here, and across the world, who belive this trash. The people over there can live in peace… it’ll take a lot of work, and time, and yes… death… but to equate them with animals who don’t know any better either means you’ve given up on humanity, or just don’t think those people are human.
J$, your comment at #5… I made that point yesterday. But nobody responded. I guess it’s a “do as I say, not as I do” kinda thing for the “HATE FNC” crowd.
Comment by ImNotBlue — March 28, 2007 @ 11:25 pm
Please remind me Chet how KO doesnt support the troops.

Congratulations to Donny Deutsch! He finally has a competitor at 10 p.m. that he can actually crush - Keith Olbermann. Deutsch not only beat Olbermann by greater than 2 to 1 in total viewers, but Deutsch also destroyed Olbermann by more than 2 to 1 in the critical, key, all-important, much-loved demo. Can we expect to see any newspaper in the country mention that Olbermann finised FIFTH out of FIVE shows at 10 p.m. last night?
Comment by Tom — March 29, 2007 @ 12:02 am
How long before Abrams cajoles NBCU2.0 to move Donny away from the 10PM slot opposite KO, just as he did with Deal or no Deal?
And while we’re at it, I love how KO has repaid Abrams for getting “Deal” moved, by trashing him in interviews. Nice.
And as for Hannity, why is it OK for KO to use his “Special Comments” to insult, malign, lie and spew venom about the GOP or to call a reporter “fat” or “monkey”, but it’s out of bounds for a conservative to do the same to the party now in power? Isn’t that what your precious “speaking truth to power” entails, or are you going to move the goalposts and apply different standards?
Comment by eddiebear — March 29, 2007 @ 12:27 am
Arthur, thank you so much for the mature dialogue this evening. Along with your infantile response to erljr, you throw out insults like moron, stupid, idiot, traitor, dogs in the street…
For just one second, forget your hatred for Bush and how we got into this war. What do you think happens to Iraq, the Middle East, and our national security if we just pack up and leave? Don’t give me any b.s. about how evil Bush is. I want a serious answer. What happens if we just leave Iraq? A lot of the Dems in congress are NOT thinking about it. They’re playing politics.
Comment by bigred — March 29, 2007 @ 1:27 am
Arthur, thank you so much for the mature dialogue this evening.
In very much the same vein, HE STARTED IT. nyah.
I am honestly sick and tired of people telling me I’m a traitor for coming to the perfectly justified conclusion that we’re wasting American lives in Iraq (not to mention fomenting sectarian violence that kills dozens if not hundreds of the people we came to ‘liberate’ every damned day), as well as increasing our own domestic danger by creating a climate that breeds MORE terrorists, not just in Iraq, but in Afghanistan, Pakistan, BRITAIN AND FRANCE. I remind you - al Qaeda wasn’t even present in any significant way in Iraq until after we occupied it.
I’m also sick and tired of people who supported the little moron as he led us into one of the worst disasters in our nation’s history turning around and saying ‘okay, what would you do?’ Hey, I didn’t get us here, okay? Your leader drove the bus off the cliff and you want ME to come up with solutions to put all the pieces back together again?
That said, what SHOULD we do? We SHOULD be getting regional players to take some responsibility for their own safety. The Saudi royals are the ones who have the most to lose; they’ve been paying off al Qaeda for years just to maintain their hold on their country - jet-setting, party-animal boozers aren’t exactly the kind of ‘rulers’ that al Qaeda considers worthy of controlling the holy sites. Let the Saudis do some policework in their own backyards for a change. Jordan? Egypt? Hey, guys. Your turn.
It’s the presence of the Infidel that’s infuriating the various uber-islamic groups; get the islamic countries to do a little nation-building for a change.
Propping up corrupt monarchies isn’t worth spending the lives of our own kids on.

Tom, are you really that big of an airhead?
Comment by Randy — March 29, 2007 @ 3:08 am
Bigred, I will give my answer to the question you asked Arthur. Honestly, I think us being there is a catalyst for a lot of the violence. I think that our continued presence fumes the Civil War, and the best thing for us and for that country would be to get out, because the best possibiliy for them to survive would be without us there. I think unintentionally, we only make things worse.

Neither Arthur nor Randy have answered bigred’s question yet. What happens if we get out of Iraq?
Jim, I don’t think anyone knows the answer to that, and anyone who says they do is assuming a compentence they probably don’t possess.
Any number of things could happen - an all-out bloodbath being fairly likely. Another possibility is that without us there to give them ‘cover’ to pursue their private agendas, all factions may decide it’s time to reach some kind of accomodation.
But even if the answer is ‘all-out bloodbath ensues’, and even if it’s ultimately our (or rather Bush’s) fault for removing the lid on that particular jar of demons, is preventing it worth the steady drip-drip-drip of bloodletting that’s going on now? 50-100 dead civilians a day adds up fairly quickly.

The television network, the CW, premiered a new drama on October 5th, 2008, called Easy Money, from the producers of the Sopranos. The show is based around a family who owns and operates a payday loan store called Prestige Payday Loans. Shows based around groups of people or cultures that do not get represented equally are all fine and good, however if and only if they’re represented fairly and accurately, and are not vehicles of perpetuating stereotypes and ignorance. A glance at the trailers and episode summaries make it clear that the show is indeed only portraying stereotypes, bearing in mind, of course, that the media rarely ever deviates from the narrow minded stereotype of the payday loan industry. Most of the coverage is horror stories of people in an “endless cycle” of debt, and it always begins when someone needs to fix their car or be able to cover an emergency bill. It proves, really, that networks aren’t interested in REAL reporting, they only like to cover whatever is shocking enough to get people to watch. The CW must be hungry to get viewers back after the writer’s strike. Just look at the show’s tagline: “For this family of loan sharks, money is easy.” Perhaps the show’s writers will actually show the positive side of the payday loan industry. However, chances are good that they won’t.
