JibJab swings and hits a foul tip…
Everyone’s talking about the new JibJab cartoon which mocks TV News…or…if you’re Mike Allen…Fox News (way at the bottom of the article). I think it went after the low hanging fruit and played it safe (with the exception of the Brittney Spears joke). It could have been better. A lot better.
Incredibly tepid ’satire’. Would have been ‘edgy’ on the Smothers Brothers show circa 1969.

No way is it against Fox News, or really the “news” at all. Instead, I thought it focused on the American people and the stories we/they seem to want to see reported.
And while many male anchors were featured in the video, ironically, I did not see Greta, Rita, Larry King or Nancy Grace! And they’re the ones often “credited” with reporting on these tabloid stories. Go figure.

Very good observation Missy — I watched it twice and did not notice or think about Greta, Rita, Larry or Nancy. There is so much so fast I may watch later in slow-mo.

I disagree that it was a foul tip… I think it was funny. Perhaps not as funny as the original JibJab toons… but funny still.
As for it’s relation to FNC, I think it’s because they copied the graphics. But there were people there from all the networks, so perhaps Mr. Allen wasn’t paying attention as much as he should have been.

What does Bush say at the very end of the video, after he says “The call this crap the news” he pops back up and chuckles, and then says something I can’t quite understand.

He says, “Haha, they call it”. Honestly, it was hilarious and point out ever problem with cable news in my mind, even though I end up watching H&C yelling and the joke news we see daily.

think about it…what channel does the MOST tabloid and NON NEWS stuff…fnc. debating isnt news..commentary isnt news..giving one opinion is not news..not to mention all the tabloid items that fills the time in which hard news should be reported. but who cares what fills the time, it wins the ratings right?

Me… if what you say is true, than what station do you watch? They all do some form of that or another. Perhaps you just want them to give you a black and white list of things. I mean come on… how boring do you want news to be?
