FNC to air Berger expose…

FNC will be airing “Sock. Scissors. Paper. The Sandy Berger Caper” this Saturday at 9pm ET and Sunday at 4pm ET…

Caught red-handed for stealing classified government papers, Sandy Berger repeatedly lied about his crime and destroyed vital evidence. So why did he only get a slap on the wrist?

Tune in this weekend, as FOX News blows this explosive case wide open!

  1. I say send Sandy to Gitmo and hook his ass up to the jumper cables… Then we can read about his “confession” on the smoking gun’s website. However, any prominent names he mentions will be “conveniently redacted” which kind of soils the juicy stuff.

  2. Yea, it would get the same treatment the Barrett Report received.

  3. It’s about time this story received some serious attention!

  4. Spud, thanks for posting. I forgot about Sandy Burglar!

This is exactly why Bozell et al (MRC) have this “us vs. them” mentality when it comes to the media. While something is clearly going on with the Bush administration and its failure to prosecute Mr. B., this is yet another story, of epic proportions, that the media has failed to report. Add to that the oil-for-food scandal (Fox News and Claudia Rosett were basically alone on this mega story), DiFi, (see below), etc. and we begin to see a pattern. Bozell is holding back, IMO!

  5. I should have said “failure to prosecute Mr. Berger” (not “Mr. B”, as Bozell could have been inferred).

    Comment by Missy — March 30, 2007 @ 12:58 pm

  6. It would be ’serious attention’ if the ’story’ ran on any other channel that the republican ‘news’ channel. I just love how fnc is doing everything in its power to try and smear the democrats for the upcoming election. heck everytime you turn on fnc they are always talking about how a hillary presidency would be a disaster. heck look at what we have now, cant get worse, can only get better!

  7. Another example why the NEWS part on Fox News makes me laugh until I have to tinkle.

  8. What i find funny, is really the only person covering this story on FNC is John Gibson, and that’s it. He does it in between his ANS and American Idol Story. Nobody does Tabloid quite like him.

How the hell would you know? I thought if you people were discovered watching FNC it was grounds for expulsion from The Tin Foil Hat Club.

  10. I can’t wait to see Sandy “Pants on Fire” Burgler exposed!
Just another lowlife in Clinton’s band of brothers.

    Comment by cella — March 30, 2007 @ 3:39 pm

  11. It did recieve serious attention and “Burglar” pleaded guilty and was sentenced. As for the oil for food scandel, Fox never reported that the US was one of biggest abusers of the oil for food program. Off topic but now FNS wants congress to quit the investigations and do only the peoples business in the 3 months that the dems have been in the majority. How come the republicans didnt do the peoples business in the 6 years they were in power. The dems are doing the peoples business because I the person want them to hold all these criminals accountable. Hooray for investigations (the people’s business.

  12. And yet to this day, we still have no idea why Sandy stole and destroyed all those documents.

  13. And yet to this day we still have no idea why Sandy stole and destroyed all those documents!!

  14. Missy, we finally agree on something! Bush & Co. gave Sandy a “slap on the wrist” essentially “covering up” the scoop. So, what does that leave us with? Two parties who are in bed together even though they fight in public.

    Comment by Terance — March 30, 2007 @ 6:05 pm

  15. FOX “news” must be getting desperate.

With so many Bush scandals and failures dominating the news they have to do something to distract the public. Look over there! a bird!

Berger was investigated by Bush administration and they did not find anything criminal. Case closed.

FOX “news” is like opiate for the lunatic right. Keep them distracted so they continue to think we have found WMD’s in Iraq and there is no wrongdoing in DoJ scandal.

    Comment by MikeD — March 30, 2007 @ 6:07 pm

  16. > Berger was investigated by Bush administration and they did not find anything criminal.

Huh? Where do people get their information from? He plead GUILTY to criminal charges. I’ll assume the rest of your comments are as well-informed and accurate as this one.

    Comment by johnny dollar — March 30, 2007 @ 6:45 pm

  17. Terance and johnny, I should mention that for the life of me I cannot figure out why our Justice Dept. did not vigorously prosecute Mr. Burglar for what appears to be a crime of grave severity. Certainly the media cannot entirely be at fault here when Bush’s own administration let the guy off with a slap on the wrist, if that!

    Comment by Missy — March 30, 2007 @ 7:42 pm

  18. Missy: Upon their inauguration, the Bush Administration obviously made a political decision not to investigate anything from the Clinton years. That is why such items as the trashing of the White House when the Clintonistas left and all of the screwy pardons were ignored. Apparently that also includes Sandy Berger stealing secrets.

Well, well, well, Alice is back, complete with the bad bad punctuation and spelling! Si! Si! Si!

  19. MikeD,
Those Fox “news” jokes are HILL AIR EE US. Wow, where do you come up with that clever stuff? Give me more, give me more. PPPPPLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSEEEE!

  20. Yes Alice is back along with my bad spelling and punctuation. I just got out of the hospital but I still have a clear mind to express my views. But for the little life I still have I cant get that SI SI SI comment.

  21. Alice, I make sure and read your posts because you make a lot of sense. Don’t worry about Ira’s right wing hatred boiling over.

  22. Gibby is RELENTLESS like a junkyard pit bull. I wish he had kept the pomadore, however. Man was he stylin or what?

  23. Alice: Hope you are feeling better.

Terance: I don’t hate anybody, even you!

    Comment by Ira — March 31, 2007 @ 2:40 pm

  24. Ira, you don’t agree with Alice’ pov and chose to exploit grammatical errors instead of attempting to refute her post. Anyway, I don’t hate you either.

    Comment by Terance — March 31, 2007 @ 4:04 pm

  25. Terance: Alice’s post was full of hysterics and vitriol in the Shaun/Mr. A/Me/MikeD mode. No wonder you wrote “because you make a lot of sense!”

For example, her statement that “FNS wants congress to quit the investigations and do only the peoples business.” Who is she talking about? Last Sunday Fox News Sunday had four panelists, host Chris Wallace and at least two guests. Did they all shout in unison “do the people’s business?”

And I am curious about the statement: “US was one of (the) biggest abusers of the oil for food program.” Her source? And who doe she mean: American businesses, the Clinton Administration?

Finally, given the poor spelling and punctuation of the English language plus her last name, I was wondering if Alice, like Rodrigo, someone who used to post here, is an American citizen.

IMO, she sounds like a female Hugo Chavez!

  26. Congratulations, Ira! You ALMOST managed to make a post without throwing around personal insults… Btw, instead of singling others out you should take a long hard look in the mirror.

    Comment by Terance — April 1, 2007 @ 1:13 pm

  27. I believe Ira asked a question Terance. Why do you respond with insults when you have no answers? Pot calling kettle anyone?

    Comment by erljr — April 1, 2007 @ 7:58 pm

  28. Terance: It is April Fools Day and I was making a funny! Lighten up dude.

One more comment about Alice’s reference to the Oil For Food program/scandal. For years the Left was howling that because of US/UN sanctions, 1.5 million Iraqi children were dying. But when we learned that Saddam Hussein, in concert with France, Germany and Russia, was pocketing billions of dollars that were supposed to go for food, Alice still blames the United States for “abusing” the Oil For Food program.

Damned if you do; damned if you don’t!

    Comment by Ira — April 1, 2007 @ 11:58 pm

  29. Erljr, I was simply “needling” Ira as he/she’s done to me in the past! I didn’t read the questions. I’m more interested in who’s getting hired/fired in the cable news business.
