Randy: Maybe I need to revise my Thursday night theory.

A new episode of CSI got a 14.0/22 share (Grey's Anatomy had a rerun) and although it didn't affect Hannity and Colmes, it may have hurt CNN where "Larry King Live" had an unusually low Thursday night overall number.

So Chet, your logic is that if Olbermann does it to another 'News' entity, it makes it OK for YOU to do it to HIM? No, sorry. Pointing that out your hypocrisy doesn't make me a 'hypocrite', but it DOES make you a name caller.

Chet: Some of you Olbermann hater's would have a little more sucess convincing others to "stop watching Olbertrash" if you would stop doing childish things like mangling his name. This takes all credibility away from your own viewpoint, which is something Johnny Dollar has never figured out.

Did i ever say that KO wasnt obsessed with BOR? No. You probably should have put that as a top obsession over him being obsessed with the bush admin. Him constantly being critical of the Bush admin is not obsession, but just disagreeing in everything they stand for, much like most democrats. But see, BOR is just as obsessed with Olbermann as he is NBC. This whole attack on NBC is simply his way of getting back at Olbermann. Because in the words of BOR, "You dont go after the rappers, you go after their masters."

I think the problem with Joe and Tucker gaining an audience is they are middle of the road. My impression is they both take a moderate “I want to be loved by everyone” point of view. There is no Liberal or Conservative edge or passion to their opinion show. Very low energy and little enthusiasm. Maybe they are conservatives reading lines written by moderates. At times they seem pained by what they just read. However they seem like nice people but not provocative or principled

If you actually watched other cable outlets and network news you would know they already did this. I don't watch Countdown but from what I read here he doesn't but that is only one program out of many. Also there is a big difference between simply having a guest on from the other side as a token gesture and actually having a guest on that can clearly express their opinion without being ridiculed, interrupted and/or having their comments spun.

interesting Randy.. you have excuses after excuses for MSNBC... the fact is that Fox has both liberals and conservatives hosts and guests, and people like seeing a debate, and both sides presented.. im suprised network news and other cable outlets havent realized this yet? how long will it take?

Hey Chet, This is how i will defend them. With a show that is one everday, Im looking at the overall ratings for the week, and not just one or two days. Shady, Scarborough isnt doing so bad in the post countdown slot. He gets a decent 500,000 a night, which isnt bad for him. Tucker however doesnt get viewers because he has one of the most annoying personalities on TV. Also, lets be realistic, all the conservatives flock to Fox, so where is the appeal for JOe? Oh and talking about your stupid little ratings shady, I believe for the obsession category, you forgot to put Billo and his obsession with NBC news. But its pretty obvious your "true" ratings contain just a hint of bias.

.....well chet, MSNBCCP certainly has its core audience and members of move on orgasm and the likes. What I don't understand is why thier token "moderates", Tucker and Scarbro doesn't attract more viewers. It does seem like the political/social demo of MsNCCP must be almost entirely composed of lefties.

Now someone may surely say the same of FNC, but if they suggest that its viewers are almost entirely righties then you would also have to assume that well over half of the total viewers of cable news ARE right of center; which may be true??

Here are the true ratings: Most dishonest, irritating, biased- Odourman # 1, Hannty distant 2nd. Most arrogant, condescending, insensitive- Odourman #1, Matthews #2, Dobbs #3, OReilly # 4. Most fixated/obsessed on one topic- Odourman #1 (hate Bush et al), Greta #2 (ANS), Matthews #3 (Bush "scandels"). Biggest suck up to guest he likes- Matthews, king, Beck.

Will we be seeing Countdown live at 10 pm in the near future? The demo number went down from Wednesday night, but it has gained viewers.

I know it doesnt matter to you people, but Olbermann, though still in fourth at 10, his repeat has consistently gained viewers from the previous day.

Chris: WHERE did you get the idea I was a "hateful leftie"? The only "venom in the blood" I have seen is your's, as evidenced in the rather hateful post that you JUST made in response to mine, which was not 'hatefull' at all. If you want to accuse people of being 'hateful' my friend, you better clean up your own act first.

Mike,
I don't like Olbermann & don't watch his show yet I like to have fun with the ratings game because i remember when Olby defenders constantly played the "oh yeah, well look at his demo numbers" card. Plus, you hateful lefties are so high strung due to the amount of venom in your blood that it's fun to pick on your last place hero & watch the foaming at the mouth begin.

"your supposed to say ratings don't matter".

Am I supposed to say some of you who clearly don't like Olbermann certainly are obsessed with Olbermann's ratings? And you certainly love to spin it, as long as you can do it in a negative way.

Why is that?

It seems MSNBC's totals are flat, but their demos are sinking. The demo and the demo/total ratio used to be their strong point.

Pssst.

Hint to Steve, your supposed to say ratings don't matter. Don't you read your talking points.

Whatever happened to that ""FIRM"" grip on second place?

Steve,
I like to give you some help on fudging the numbers. If you use the formula 3m + 2o = b, where the variables m,o,b stand for mathews, olbermann, and bill you may be able to come up with some numbers for MSNBC that come close to those of BOR.

Steve, that number doesn't mean anything. Monday he barely eeked Grace in the "demo" (which was a very big night for him), Tuesday he came in third overall and second in the demo by a mere 20k. Wednesday he came in second overall and FOURTH in the demo. Thursday was terrible. He's all over the map. You can try all the numbers games you want, but the fact remains, your hero has no lock on second. Deal with it.

From the comments it on these threads it would seem that Countdown is doing terrible in the ratings, I wonder what would happen if you averaged out the numbers?

MSNBC 744 230
CNN 676 216
HLN 669 220

Wait, that can't be right, Countdown just can't be in second for the week can it? How could that be?
