  2. It will be interesting to see if today’s numbers go up. If they do, I will have to conclude that there are a lot of Jewish people who are also nielsen families.

  3. I du no whyCNN have yet Paula Zahn on the air; the show is a complete failure since YEARS…

    Comment by Rodrigo — April 4, 2007 @ 7:38 pm

  4. not to spoil your thesis or anything, but I don’t even think Paula was on last night; I think all the primetime anchors are off this week.

    Comment by Arthur — April 4, 2007 @ 7:40 pm

  5. Paula Zahn – 419,000 viewers (99,000)

    Oh Paula, please go home!!!!

  6. Presently Paula Zahn is very busy with some personal problems.

    Comment by Ira — April 4, 2007 @ 7:43 pm

  7. Was Star Jones in for Larry King again last night?

    Comment by Noelle — April 4, 2007 @ 7:47 pm

  8. Oh yeah…I forgot about her “problems”…I thought she was a more respectable woman than that!

  9. Paula was on last night. Lou Dobbs was host of LKL. Dismal numbers all around for CNN last night with the exception of Lou Dobbs Tonight

    Comment by myview — April 4, 2007 @ 8:01 pm

  10. Why is the rerun of Olbermann’s show no longer on at 10 p.m.? Why did CNBC move the Deal or No Deal rerun out of Olbermann’s 8 p.m. time slot?

    Comment by Tom — April 4, 2007 @ 8:21 pm

  11. Guys, Paula has a decent program, and the few times I’ve watched, she’s presented us with good topics, decent guests to debate such topics, and an overall balanced presentation of the subject matter. I’m sure the fact that she competes directly with O’Reilly has a lot to do with her less than stellar ratings.

Maybe they could move her program to a different time slot. I’m sure her ratings would improve.

    Comment by Missy — April 4, 2007 @ 8:28 pm

  12. I don’t understand why people think that CNBC moved DOND out of 8pm because MSNBC/Keith asked for it…if you guys read the “Fast Money” page on Wikipedia, it has in great details the information about how CNBC was trying various timeslots for the program before it decided on 8pm. I HIGHLY doubt they did it because MSNBC asked for it…

  13. I agree Missy. Lately PZN has improved greatly but sadly still getting bad ratings. She’s in a tough time slot and as much as I like CNN and their programs doubt any of the programs in their line up would do well up against O’Reilly

  14. Well things will be heating up soon with Paula Zhan. It was reported in ‘The New York Post’ that her and her hubby are getting a divorce.

And it has the makings of being a nasty one.

I will defend Paula. 8 P.M. is hard going up against two pitbulls and a skunk. ‘It’s getting like the rough and tough hour.’

CNN would be wise to put her on afternoons. Right now she is just getting shown to the woodshed daily. And if this divorce go’s tabloid? FORGETABOUTIT!!!!!!!!

    Comment by puck — April 4, 2007 @ 9:33 pm

  15. Puck: Fearing my post would be deleted, I was purposely vague about Paula’s problems (Page Six also reported she is dating a married man).

    Comment by Ira — April 4, 2007 @ 10:39 pm

  16. Spring Break, Jewish Seders, Substitute Hosts, American Idol, whatever the cumulative reasons are, it is compounded by the fact that we are in a “BORING” news cycle. Ahmadinejad is distracting the MSM from the UN sanctions place on Iran, Congress is on a witch hunt just like it was in Clinton’s days, Predidential fundraising — The average American is not interested in this crap — you have got to be a “HARD NEWSER” to follow this stuff.

    Comment by Aunt Mary — April 4, 2007 @ 11:26 pm

  17. Randy hates Jews now?

    Comment by Chet — April 4, 2007 @ 11:57 pm

  18. If you read previous posts, i think ive mentioned that I didnt watch Countdown because of MY SEDER. I’d say worse to people like you, but my post would get deleted.

    Comment by Randy — April 5, 2007 @ 2:28 am

  19. Chet — That is not at all what Randy was implying. He is elaborating on a previous thread.

    Comment by Aunt Mary — April 5, 2007 @ 2:47 am

  20. Geez Randy… you’re becoming unhinged like Rosie

    Comment by Chet — April 5, 2007 @ 10:05 am

  21. Aunt Mary: Great point about fundraising being non-news.

    Comment by Ira — April 5, 2007 @ 12:40 pm

  22. You guys see the screaming match between BO & Geraldo?
