Bad numbers for most. Maybe a Friday news hangover.
Comment by Edward Schatz — April 30, 2007 @ 8:13 pm
*snicker* Spin that Klein. CNN should give it up and just combine CNN and HLN and make ONE half decent all news channel. At least then they wouldn’t lose to themselves.
Comment by Cooperite — April 30, 2007 @ 8:22 pm
That might be the lowest-rated weeknight on CNN ever.
I am really sad to see the doc block doing so well, UGH!

All the numbers on all the newsnets were down. ES is right. It was a news hangover.

Edward, you overlooked the very good demo numbers for “Countdown”, particularly for a Friday. I’m CERTAIN it was just an oversight on your part.

Bah! demo number are overrated Museglet
Comment by Sal Jr — May 1, 2007 @ 1:28 am
unless they are bad for KO, and then they are the most important thing in the world.
Comment by Randy — May 1, 2007 @ 2:03 am
Randy, Sal Jr. is now in charge of ALL of Madison Ave., setting ad rates for ALL of television so as to not “overrate” that 25-54 demo.
Comment by museglet — May 1, 2007 @ 5:29 am
Actually, museglet, if you read my recap of Monday night’s “Countdown” over at olbermannwatch.com you can see that I made it quite clear that Keith had “good ratings” and came second in the both total the beloved, all important coveted “key” demo.

Olby’s demo is actually LESS impressive when O’Reilly’s 11pm rerun with lower total viewers than his 8pm show has a higher demo.

ooo dissed by Edward Schatz!

Somebody needs to remind MSNBC that they’re running a business and that they need to be competitive. Their daytime numbers are horrible, MSNBC Live is like three steps back for them from IMUS. Tucker’s show needs to go and replaced by something else that can bring in viewers; hell the MSNBC Docs draw in bigger numbers than Tucker’s Show and MSNBC Live, not that i would want anymore Docs. Their Primetime coverage is at least competitive, but they really need to get up the Daytime numbers.
BTW The Demo numbers do matter, they’re not over-rated. All you have to do is pick up a book on consumerism or economics and you can see that those within the age range that comprise the demo have a greater propensity to consume than their older and younger counterparts. Is it so hard to believe that those within the age of 25-54 consume more than those over the age of 54? Afterall the retirement age is sixty.
