Wednesday’s Numbers…

HLN beat MSNBC in the Total Day and Primetime Demos. However HLN also beat MSNBC in Total Viewers in Primetime. Fox and Friends has been showing increased strength recently. It had a bigger Demo than American Morning had total viewers. In fact it beat all the competition combined in the Demo. O’Reilly led the way in the Demo in prime time. Lou Dobbs Town Hall special beat Countdown but not by leaps and bounds. Countdown came in fourth by the way…

  1. O’Reilly had another huge ratings night. Lou Dobbs did well too.

  2. I just wrote on another thread on here regarding Gretchen and F&F. I am liking her now. I don’t think I gave her a fair shake because I liked E.D. so much. But lately I’ve been able to watch more of F&F and I like Gretchen now. I think that the three of them worked out all the glitches. The only other thing I miss is Lauren Green. Alyson C. just doesn’t cut it to me but maybe it’s the same as it was with E.D. and Gretchen (I just miss Lauren) and in time, I will be fine with Alyson.

  3. Bill O’Reilly had on George Tenet. This was one guy I didn’t mind watching O’Reilly scream at. What a tool.

  4. Alisyn was hosting on Wednesday, while Gretchen was off for the day.
Alisyn brings a freshness and energy to the show that makes it not just watchable but enjoyable too!

  5. I, too, am glad to see F & F’s ratings improve. Gretchen seems quite knowledgable and can speak with authority at times, and I’d much rather have her in that position that some young bimbette or someone like Elisabeth H., who does not seem to be able to speak up to the loud mouthed Rosie (I don’t watch “The View”, but have seem so many excerpts of it on Fox that it’s clear that little Elisabeth is not real forceful when challenging anyone’s thoughts.)

  6. I guess all of Stephanie Miller’s Bush bash wasn’t appealing to people. MSNBC better get someone in the middle to host mornings.

  7. Looks like FNF is benefiting from I-MAN’s departure.

  8. Noelle and Missy — I agree about Gretchen — When E.D. Hill moved from F&F we went to Imus — I do not watch to much in the a.m. I am a late night person, however we have given F&F another try since Imus is gone and Gretchen does seem to have stepped up to the plate.

  9. Double the 4th place for good old Keith.

    Comment by Edward Schatz — May 3, 2007 @ 7:51 pm

  10. Edward,

Keith ranked second at 8PM on Monday and Tuesday. Oddly on those days I don’t remember you saying “Double the 2nd place for good old Keith.” Hmmm… strange how that works.

    Comment by Spencer — May 3, 2007 @ 8:02 pm

  11. MSNBC is clueless, but then again, with Dan what’s-his-name running things what can you expect? A lawyer? HUH?

    Comment by PF — May 3, 2007 @ 8:12 pm

  12. Noelle & Missy: To be fair, we really can’t accurately analyse the morning ratings until a)MSNBC gets settled and until b) we see how audiences relate to the new CNN team on a normal news day.

    Comment by Ira — May 3, 2007 @ 8:23 pm

  13. Yeah, but Spencer… just because he finishes second one (or two) days… but then comes in fourth the next, isn’t really a sign of an accomplishment. It means the loyal audience is small, and the other percentage can be fairly easily swayed. Never a good thing.

How did people think O’Reilly did with Tenent? People who actually watched the interview, please… not people who read about it on a blog, or saw edited clips posted somewhere. I thought it was very interesting. O’Reilly was mostly polite, sometimes jokey, but hit him hard with the “Why isn’t this your fault?” questions… Then having Dennis Miller on to talk about it, and reviewing the content of the interview was great, and gave some interesting analysis into what was actually said. All in all, I thought it made for some good, thoughtful, television.

  14. Ya know it’s funny, strange, quite odd if you ask me. But!

It seems everytime somebody says Olbermann has a lock or a grip on second place.

    LOOK WHAT HAPPENS!

  15. Blue — I did see the show and I thought O’Reilly could have been just a little tougher on Tenent. I think Miller thought so also. My view could be comming from the fact that before the book came out I said — Tenent should be honest and tell this without making millions on a book. But to be fair to O’Reilly, as always it was interesting.

  16. The ratings are so crazy, the other night everyones numbers were way down, and now BO, Lou D, and NG went up at 8pm.. Countdown went way down!!!!!

    Comment by Chet — May 4, 2007 @ 9:55 am

  17. Houses and cars are expensive and not every person is able to buy it. Nevertheless, mortgage loans are created to support people in such hard situations.

  18. You have made some decent points there. Used to do a search about them and found most guys will go together with your blog.
