You can still win! CNBC, America’s Business Channel, has added a bonus round for “CNBC.com Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge” players: The Second Chance Showdown.
On May 14th, after ten weeks of the “CNBC .com Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge,” the finals begin with 20 finalists competing for a $1 Million grand prize. For those who didn’t make it to the finals, The Second Chance Showdown is another opportunity for aspiring portfolio moguls to use their prowess to win a prize.
Those that opt-in to The Second Chance Showdown will have their portfolios reset to $1,000,000 virtual CNBC Bucks on May 14th and have two weeks to build the biggest portfolio. The winner will receive a complete Sony Home Theater System, including a 46″ HDTV, a 5-disc DVD/CD changer and a 5.1 channel surround sound.
The Second Chance Showdown is only open to anyone who has registered for the “CNBC.com Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge.” In order to compete in The Second Chance Showdown, players must opt-in to the new contest. (Please note this is a new opt-in and not a new registration.) Each player will only be allowed one portfolio in the final two weeks of trading. Also, there are no bonus bucks in The Second Chance Showdown or in the finals of the “CNBC.com Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge.”The first-ever “CNBC.com Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge” began on Monday, March 5th. Nine weekly winners have earned $10,000 based on their portfolio prowess, with one remaining weekly winner to be named after this week’s trading, and will be invited to participate in the final round for the $1 Million Grand Prize. In addition, ten other contestants will be invited to compete in the finals: the ten players who have the highest portfolios. Trading will close on May 25, 2007 and the player with the highest portfolio value will be awarded $1 Million.



My sister and brother in law are playing, they are in the top 2% my sister even did a 3 minute phone interview with CNBC for the game…it’s cool, that is the top 2% out of 1,500,000.
