Democratic Presidential candidate Richardson appears on FNC…

Though there’s been a lot of news and noise made by some Democratic presidential candiates apparently opting not to appear at the CBC Institute/FNC debate, not all Democratic Presidential candidates are acting like they’re taking a hands off approach to FNC. In a taped interview that aired today on FNC, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson gave access on the campaign trail to the network and discussed his qualifications for the job

I’m the only candidate that’s actually negotiated with other countries, the North Koreans, Iraq and in Latin America at the United Nations. I’m the only one with executive experience. I have to balance budgets. I’ve done it four times as governor.

  1. Yeah, but he still looks like a slob whose breath reeks of cheeseburgers and has grease dribbling off his chin.

  2. Richardson has been on Fox so much, in the past few years, that I thought he was on their payroll. And when he decided to bail on the FNC-sponsored debates (as did the other dems), I thought that was the end of him.

Why would FNC want to trail him around since he pretty much turned on him? And he’s certainly not a front-runner, so I doubt whether it would help them with their ratings.

  3. he turned on them (not “him”). Another typo to my discredit.

  4. He’s a total creep! Take my word for it. I’m a NM native and have had to put up with the little rich boy carpetbagger for about 20 years now. He’s a lush, a womanizer, a crook, and get enough face time on tv to suit himself. He’s spent very little time in NM… he just came here because it was easy pickings to fulfill his political ambitions. He was rarely here as a congressman and not much more as governor. Can’t wait until his terms ends. I’m sure NM will have seen the last of him then.

  5. petchy, I remember reading something about that womanizing a few months back. Yikes!

I hope you guys can get a better governor next time around.

  6. If the press ever opens his closet door all the way, so many skeletons will fall out that he’ll never make it to the primaries, much less beyond. I’ve never seen a photo of him with his wife and couldn’t tell you her name if you held a gun to my head. :) From beautiful Santa Fe.

  7. I personally have been a fan of the Governor for quite some time… oh well.

The Dems are crazy for boycotting FOX, the highest rated cable news channel. Kudos to Richardson for not buckling under the pressure of the dailykos crowd. And if anyone saw the FOX debate (which was fantastic) they’d know that there are some good reporters at FOX who know how to cover politics.

  9. Well, I’ll hand it to him. He’s one Dem man enough to tell the Kos Kidz to get bent and go on FNC.

  10. eddiebear - it’s a low-risk thing for him to do, because he’s sucking wind and not making any moves toward the top tier of Dem candidates. If he had anything resembling a shot at the Dem nomination, he’d be bowing at the smelly, unwashed feet of the Kos Kidz and DUmpster divers.

  11. ^Oh, I agree. But I do find it funny that the Kossacks are so afraid of their heroes going on the one cable channel that actually gets ratings. Instead, they demand softball interviews on MSNBC. And when the Kidz pull the leash, they jump.

  12. Petchy,

So he was a natural fit in the Clinton Administration.
