Romney on his religion…

CNN’s Political Ticker has an exchange between Mitt Romney and an attendee to a speaking engagement Romney was holding. Not sure how newsy this is though. The guy seems like a mole to me…

“I am one person who will not vote for a Mormon,” the man, identified by the Associated Press as Al Michaud, said to Romney as he approached Michaud’s table.

“Oh, is that right?” Romney said. “Can I shake your hand anyway?”

“No,” Michaud said, refusing to meet eyes with the Republican presidential candidate.

Romney then said okay, chuckled, and walked away from Michaud’s table.

  1. The man admits in the article that he is a liberal (for some reason CNN chose to put the word liberal in quotation marks) and that he is a Hillary Clinton supporter. He just wanted to see himself on TV and in the paper; I guess CNN gave him his wish.

  2. There are many ways to be a dick. Not shaking someone’s hand because of their religion is one way i hadn’t thought of.

Obviously the war against religious extremism is also taking place on our own soil.

  3. I agree with you both. Some idiot wants to go out and exhibit poor behavior, and CNN lends credibility to his efforts. Nice group of people, these Hillary supporters.

  4. Can you imagine if this was at a Obama fundraiser and a “conservative” said he would never vote for a black man? Then, refused to shake Obama’s hand. This would be all over the news.

  5. What a surprise. An atheist/pagan supporting Hillary Clinton won’t vote for a Mormon.

  6. Missy: “Nice group of people, these Hillary supporters.”

Group of people? This was ONE rude man. And there are probably rude, idiotic people in all the candidates’ camps.

Tom: “What a surprise. An atheist/pagan supporting Hillary Clinton won’t vote for a Mormon.”

And you know Michaud is an atheist/pagan how?

Also, you did notice that the accompanying article made note of a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll that said 10 percent of New Hampshire Republicans said they are less likely to vote for Romney because he is Mormon? These are Republicans…not atheist/pagan liberals. Even the evangelical Christian leader Dobson has expressed concern that Christians will not vote for a Mormon.

  7. When people like Pat Robertson start voting for pagans, skeptics, and the likes of Hugo Chavez, and Barry Bonds, I think most Americans will have no problem with Mormons.

  8. If it is the guy in the picture (for the video) … Maybe he’s just jealous of Mitt’s hair & good looks?? But, yes, it does indeed sound like the DNC / Hillary planted the guy in the restaurant as a mole. Just another reason to vote FOR Mitt and against Hillary.
