20: Part of it has to do with Scarborough's actions in order to keep his job at a network now given over to left wing lunacy and the thin skinned nature of the left. Every crack about Hillary! or any other spouse/politician (whether justified or not) is met with screams and howls of protest from the same people now saying "get over it."

Sure, Joe should no better especially with his past but what is the big deal though? Everything the guy says is stupid - turn the channel if you don't want to listen. Why can't everyone develop a backbone and stop being such babies getting their feelings hurt every other minute. You have no busines telling me what is funny or not. Good for Fred, guy must have something going on. Imus shouldn't have been fired for a stupid joke and Joe shouldn't get in trouble either.

He's not vindicated. The "context" confirms what has already been said. Sure, it's not a firable offense, but it is what it is.
I'm sure Thompson and his wife expected this when they got married. She is 25 years younger than him after all. The whole thing is exacerbated by the fact that Thompson, 64, looks like he's in his 70's; and his wife, 39, looks more like 24.

Frank, it does in fact look like Scarborough has been vindicated. Never in a million would I think there was a reasonable explanation, but apparently there was. Thanks for posting the link.

Calling Joe Scarborough a Republican is like calling Rosie O'Donnell a sane/rational person. Joe's comments were disgusting and to be perfectly honest he should lose his job and go crawling back under the rock he came from.

I'm not a big fan of attacks on a candidate but to attack a candidate's wife should guarantee you a personal space in hell.

I don't care if Joe is a RINO or a DINO, what he said was stupid. Talk about opening his mouth and inserting his foot. Granted, I was quite surprised to see FT's wife....WOW! But Joe should know better and what he said was uncalled for, just was what Imus said was uncalled for. However, neither of them should have been/be fired for it.

El, Joe a traditional conservative? You have GOT to be kidding! I find it so funny that you cannot ever leave a comment here with out attacking anyone who is remotely conservative or a FNC viewer. Why are you so defensive?

Actually, many conservatives turned their backs on Scarborough a long time ago. I think Joe himself put it best when he said:

"If you look at my transcripts you will see that I have been bashing my party more than the Democratic party"

Of course, that's probably the only reason he still has a job at MSNBC. But to their credit, MSNBC doesn't claim to be either "fair" or "balanced".

So I'm not surprised to see RINO Joe taking cheap shots at the Republican candidates. But to make a crass sexual insult about a spouse is beyond the realm of decency. And if Steve Doocey made a similar comment about any Democratic candidate's wife, I'd say the same thing.

Scarborough should be the last person to make a joke like this. Two years ago, when the GOP started looking for a candidate to field against Senator Bill Nelson in Florida, Katherine Harris, then the leading contender, was reported as threatening to expose Joe's predatory instincts on women while serving as a congressman representing Pensacola. We heard nothing from Joe since then, apparently cowering into a corner from what would have been a huge expose. At least that's what we read in the papers. Any truth to this, Joe?

Olbermann's had less than kind things to say about famous women as well, although if memory serves, never about a candidate's wife--but give him time. I'm sure it'll be just a matter of time before he's wailing away on them too. What Scarborough said was distasteful but honestly? That was rather my first impression of her when I saw a photo of her. A traditional DC wife she's obviously not.

Fox and Freaks viewers were willing to jump on the Imus bandwagon as soon as Al Sharpton became involved, but look how quick they are to jump ugly on a traditional conservative for joking about one of there own. Hypocrites to the core.
