Still more Hilton write-ups…
The Washington Post’s Lisa DeMoraes writes about profound social issues on TV CNN’s Paris Hilton coverage…
Larry King tripled his audience by lobbing softball questions at a vacant-looking Paris Hilton in her first TV chat since her release from jail early Tuesday.
After which, the son of Gloria Vanderbilt more than doubled his usual “Anderson Cooper 360°” crowd with his neo-ironic performance of a journalist holding his nose and whining about having to analyze King’s interview with the privileged child of a gillionaire. In so doing, Cooper joined all those media columnists who for weeks had been sniffing about journalism embracing tabloid instincts in re the Paris story, only to stick their own greedy snouts into the trough holding the juiciest pop-culture gruel served up in ages.
And Barbara Walters sat bolt upright on her Disney Throne of Principles, mumbling “tawdry” while dialing Lionel Richie on his private line to say “Hi!”

Speaking of write ups..
How long before the media writes that these new London, would be bombers, were a bunch of bungling misfits who couldn’t tie their show much less light a fuse.

Paris Hilton is known for being a ditz, and Larry King is known for softball interviews. So why on earth is everyone even writing about the interview? Each participant behaved EXACTLY as expected. Exactly as expected!
These idiots in the print media should all be fired for stating the obvious. But I guess it’s better than reading about Keith’s “ratings surge” and “solid lock on second place” (neither of which are true, of course), or about Soledad’s luncheon speaking schedule.
These print journalists contribute less to our nation’s discourse than does Paris Hilton herself. Paris should write about them!

People like Lisa DeMorales and Tom Shales write about TV - that’s what they do. It’s not like they are shifting their attention from Iraq and world hunger to Paris & Larry.
I personally loved her column (I would encourage anyone to read it) and I especially loved how she skewered that self righteous twit Anderson Cooper.
