Art Thefts on “American Greed”
CNBC put out a release on the next episode of its “American Greed” series…
CNBC’s “American Greed,” an original primetime series, uncovers one of the largest art thefts in the United States in its next episode to air July 5th at 9 PM ET.
Former co-workers, Donald Rasch and Biron Valier conspired to steal more than 130 pieces of fine art worth more than $4 million dollars from Fine Arts Express, a poorly-run art storage facility in the St. Louis area. Rasch tells all to “American Greed.” The FBI’s Art Crime Team has tracked the stolen art to museums, art galleries and private collections across the country and even around the world, and to date, has recovered more than 100 pieces making it their largest art recovery.
Still, many pieces remain missing.
Also featured on “American Greed,” is a Cleveland, Ohio pain doctor who takes advantage of desperate patients and sticks insurance companies for millions. Dr. Jorge Martinez repeatedly jabbed patients with expensive, painful and unnecessary shots as part of an elaborate scheme generating nearly $60 million in billings. Dr. Martinez gets his patients hooked on highly addictive medications then only renews prescriptions if they submit to painful and costly nerve block injections. As the money rolls in, his multi-million dollar medical fraud scheme turns deadly. CNBC’s “American Greed” reveals undercover videotapes from the FBI’s investigation that ultimately brings this pain doctor to justice. The series is narrated by actor Stacy Keach and produced exclusively for CNBC, America’s Business Channel, by Kurtis Productions.
CNBC’s “American Greed” premiered on Thursday, June 21st and will air on Thursday nights and repeat on the following Sunday night. The remaining three episodes will air Thursday nights at 9pm & 12am ET.

Maybe they should have called it”Individual people’s greed” rather than inferring this is a solely American vice—oh I forgot, they are honor bound to be biased against the US—MSM simplistic shallow goose-steppers

Your story was so interesting. I have been living this story since 2003. My son, then 23 sustained a back injury at work. Four years later and much begging doctors and lawyers to please stop giving him drugs. I have a 27 year old totally disabled addict that is now in my hands. I think you should do a follow up story on how this effects the families of the addicts. I was always told to stay out of it as my son was 21 and could make his own choices. I begged the doctors and lawyers to please help. Both agreed that he was an addict but no intervention has taken place.
I am faced with his not knowing what to do as I am a 55 year old widow living in a state with no other relatives. To kick him out will just get him killed on the street, or in jail which he will spend in solitary confinement because he attenpted suicide last year. Then new buz word is I am just co-dependent and want to control. I am just afraid that when this ends my son will be dead.
This accident which is a workman’s comp claim has distroyed my son and myself.
I truly believe greed played a big part in his “treatment” and “mistreatment”. The lawyers were active until the claim was setteled however, misguided us many times. Now like many times before we are now out to find proper help.
I am no longer emotionally strong. If you can guide me to assistance I would appreciate it.
At times all doctors have refused to see my son because he is now such a risk. He is an addict, and I am his advoicate.
My story is very painful.
