Where’s Rudi Bakhtiar?
Earlier this week I received an email from a Rudi Bakhtiar fan asking what has become of her. That was a surprise question to me because I didn’t know she had dissapeared but it got me thinking back to the last time I saw her on FNC. I couldn’t remember the last time. Was it one month ago? Two? Was it on Red Eye? The Big Story? I couldn’t be sure. A check of some of the fan sites didn’t turn up anything other than nobody seemed to know what happened to her. So the question remains, what has happened to Rudi Bakhtiar? And when will she return to the air?

I remember seeing Rudi Bakhtiar on Red Eye and she and Rachel Marsden were debating politics. If I was at FNC I’d have those two doing a political show together. It was awesome TV. Someone said that Rudi’s uncle was the Prime Minister of Iran when the Shah was in power??

from wikipedia :
Shapour Bakhtiar is Rudi Bakhtiar’s father’s uncle, the last Prime Minister of Iran under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and a great aunt of Bakhtiar’s was the Shah of Iran’s second wife. Bakhtiar’s great-grandfather is named Sardar Jang[1].

I know someone who said that they’ve seen her on FNC’s international feed, so it may be possible that she’s only on the international feed now
Comment by D311 — July 13, 2007 @ 2:05 am
I think I saw her on FOX not that long ago, but not really sure. I’ll keep an eye out!

I really enjoy watching Rudi. Her reports are very thorough and she has a great sense of humor. I would like to see more of her reporting on FoxNews.
FNC does a really lousy job of keeping us informed on their talent. They could take Bandaras off and put Rudi in and I think they would have a hit

I think Banderas is a keeper, she’s a feisty one. I think they should get rid of Martha M. and Skinner. Boring blonde and boring brunette. Give Rudi the 2pm slot and how about changing the 1pm slot to an whole hour of the A-List format but with permanent hosts. My dreamteam setup would be Karen Hanretty, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter and since I’ve seen her a few times on FNC already so that means she’s probably out at MSNBC, Monica Crowely. Wonder what kind of ratings and how hysterical liberals would get with this setup lol.

Martha and Skinner are some of the most intelligent, and have a calming effect. Bandaras is very pushy and hyper.. and acts like she is smarter than she actually is

I was surprised at Julie’s unprofessionalism during America’s Newsroom yesterday….Her description of a picture of Miss New Jersey of ..”Some guy biting her boob” was highly unprofessional….She should know better than to use such slang in a report…
Considering how she used the word “breast” in her following reports makes me think she probably got a talking to….
Comment by Wecnhie — July 13, 2007 @ 9:29 am
I think Julie’s “biting her boob” thing was refreshing. Too many reporters try to look smart by using fancy words, she is more realistic.
Comment by JMK24 — July 13, 2007 @ 9:40 am
You see the work “breast” as a fancy word?….
Comment by Wenchie — July 13, 2007 @ 9:46 am
My next question would be do you see the word “boob” as a professional word to be used in a news report?..
Comment by Wenchie — July 13, 2007 @ 9:48 am
International feed? FNC has a separate International news feed like CNN International? Why is it I find that hard to believe.
Comment by Trudy — July 13, 2007 @ 9:48 am
Trudy, FNC has some international only segments, but most of the content in other countries is the same. Wenchie, I do not find “breast” to be a fancy word, its just that I found it mildly entertaining/refreshing to see a reporter using a more common word. BTW, if I wanted professional reporting, I would watch Larry King or Keith Olbermann.
Comment by JMK24 — July 13, 2007 @ 9:57 am
Trudy,
Great job outing JMK24 … news flash Liberals really do watch FNC!!!!

Now that I think about, I haven’t seen Rudi either. I used to see her on The Big Story a lot. I heard that Heather N is coming back to The Big Story. Maybe Heather is replacing Rudi? I like Rudi and I hope she is still there. Maybe she will be doing work at FBN?
Comment by Noelle — July 13, 2007 @ 10:22 am
Julie could have said “mammary gland.”
Comment by Bob — July 13, 2007 @ 10:23 am
you people are bitching about nothing.. leave julie alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comment by Chet — July 13, 2007 @ 10:30 am
Looks like someone is emotionally invested in Julie.
Comment by Mary Snow — July 13, 2007 @ 10:45 am
Maybe. But he’s got a point. What the heck does Julie Banderas have to do with this subject? Yet half the comments are about Julie. I’m waiting for Eddiebear to somehow try to bring Keith Olbermann into this…
Comment by Spud — July 13, 2007 @ 10:48 am
I think it grew out of the idea that FNC under uses Rudi to be honest….then names were tossed out…Skinner, Martha, Julie….
Comment by Wenchie — July 13, 2007 @ 11:03 am
Here’s how to transition to KO. Didn’t he say some nasty stuff about Julie or give her WPITW over how she got Brokaw and Jennings mixed up? Yup, real class picking on a girl.
Comment by Lurker — July 13, 2007 @ 11:09 am
picking on a ‘girl’?? Grown woman and professional journalist, more like! Her carelessness with the facts was terrible! I did love Julie’s confronation with Shirley Phelps though - that was good TV.
Comment by Mr A — July 13, 2007 @ 11:44 am
VMart, I was just joking about KO and Larry King. I am not a lib but I do watch FNC, plus Tucker on MSNBC. I repeat, I am not a pinko lib.
Comment by JMK24 — July 13, 2007 @ 11:45 am
Sigh…I try to stear the discussion back to Rudi and you all take it back to Julie.
Comment by Spud — July 13, 2007 @ 11:46 am
JMK24, sorry! I thought our level headed, logical collection of bloggers had been invaded by the loony libs.
Spud, sorry about going to Julie, but she is just aweful and Rudi would be a better choice.. at the time I was hopinbg FNC was just trying to find another place for her and offered a suggestion (just in case someone there visits this blog).. and we know they do
Comment by VMart — July 13, 2007 @ 12:19 pm
When she was interviewing the crazy Christian lady she said some stuff like “If you believe in the Bible then your going to hell” She can be “unprofesional” at times when she dosn’t know how to make an arguement. Lets just say she sometimes talks without thinking. And she was lucky if she got a talking to. Maybe she’ll be aware and think a little more before she speaks.
Comment by Vito — July 13, 2007 @ 9:27 pm
This is from Wikipedia:
Rudi Bakhtiar joined FOX News Channel (FNC) as a general correspondent in January 2006, and held that role until July 2007 when her contract was not renewed
Comment by Doug2356 — August 8, 2007 @ 4:25 pm
Don’t you just love spending 15 mins on a thoughtful post only to have it wiped out by failing to fill out a damned box? Oh well… I’ll vote with my feet and use a different site from now on.
Comment by Mal — August 9, 2007 @ 3:44 pm
Per FNC Intl To my knowledge FNC outside RUSA is the same except occasional weather screens and Fox News Extra(where Rudi sometimes appeared including the last time I saw her as per KC)
Comment by Rob Sutton — August 22, 2007 @ 9:01 pm
FNC should have given Edye Hill’s job to Rudi. What a waste of talent. Rudi could be a model if she wanted to. Maybe that’s what she’s doing now.
Comment by Eddie — October 11, 2007 @ 2:43 pm
I’m sure whatever she’s doing she’s glad to NOT be playing “second fiddle” to the ultra hot Robin Meade. Insiders have stated that she was sick of the 6-10 morning segment being “Robin’s show”.
Comment by DN1 — November 4, 2007 @ 5:27 pm
I am also missing RUDI. Where are you honey??????
Did she marry the guy that sent her a red Ferrari?? True story.
I would have sent her one too. Wao, isn´t she lovely?.
