Morning Joe is not catching on as expected BECAUSE IT IS AWFUL! Tucker was the best in the morning after Imus. The rumor is Imus will be back in some form soon and poor Joe will be in even bigger trouble.
Comment by Julie — July 17, 2007 @ 8:08 pm
Gee wasn’t it just yesterday that someone here posted..“Olbermann will be over a million plus viewers on a constant basis come fall.”…yea he’s on his way…HA!HA!HA
!HA! :)

I guess this is why Dan sent his memo. However, Morning Joe is still not get a audience.
John and Kiran fail in the morning and fail in the evening. I see a change in the horizon. What’s up with CNBC. I actually like the morning shows on CNBC, but they have to get rid of Mad Money.
Comment by Alix — July 17, 2007 @ 8:11 pm
Gee, CNBC had FOUR scratches, including Michael Eisner with a disgraceful 14,000 demo viewers.
Is this the network that is up 93% in prime time?
Comment by Ira — July 17, 2007 @ 8:17 pm
spud are you sure nancy beat AC in the demo as the figures you have up shows nancy at 195,000 and AC at 198,000.
Comment by Sam — July 17, 2007 @ 8:23 pm
CNN’s idea of having a week’s worth of shows as “Countdowns to the U-Tube Debate” is idiotic. IMO, they’re milking this upcoming U-Tube Debate for more than it’s actually worth.
Comment by Objective Analyst — July 17, 2007 @ 8:27 pm
I agree with #7…they should have done maybe 1 special or something. But FIVE? Honestly, are they going to show ALL of the videos they got or something? Look at those pathetic 8pm numbers…CNBC almost beat them! Speaking of CNBC, why do they keep that silly Eisner show on? It is SOOOOOO boring, and the numbers, without fail, are bad EVERY time. Give him the hook already!
Comment by Anonymous — July 17, 2007 @ 8:48 pm
I also agree w/#7..What a debacle..And to think they’re having a whole weeks worth…sad..
The J&K Show is not working! Breaking up will be easy to do.
I heard on F&F this morning that the I-man will be back in Sept..They didn’t say where though.

So I drive by Obiewon’s show and there is a guest host. The girl Alison (cant remember last name) who used to have a 3pm show briefly on Msnbc before the I-Guy got whacked.
Anyway I stay for the segment on David Vitter and his wife’s press conference following his name mentioned in the dc madame’s black book.
And what is the topic of the segment. What is the lower third that was up for the ENTIRE segment ?
“FASHION HO - PAS?” (Thats a quote so you don’t have to block me under fair use guidelines).
And they proceeded to talk about Vitter’s wife’s choice of wardrobe for the press conference, saying she looked like a “prostitute” ect ect.
So let me see if I understand this……
The I-Guy gets fired for saying “nappy headed ho’s”………………………………. When talking about RU’s womens basketball team.
Yet:
The guest host for Oberman who is black and has curly hair can say that the wife of a US congressman looks like a prostitute and a ho while she defends her husband in a sex case and the I-guy gets FIRED ??? ?????????
You want to talk about hypocrisy ?????????????????

Fox can give IMUS 3 hours during primetime on FBN. They can have all the stock market shows up to 7 pm ET. Then have IMUS on from 8-10. Easy 400k-500k viewers maybe even more since he doesn’t have a radio show anymore and people are off from work.
Comment by Lurker — July 17, 2007 @ 9:35 pm

Joe Scarborough had Mary Mapes (Mary Mapes!!!) on his program!!!! I didn’t watch but 10 or 15 seconds, so I don’t know how Scarborough handled that absolute fraud, but when your guests include such a thoroughly discredited kook like Mapes, your show’s future can’t be too bright.

11.
History was made today.
History will again be made @ 14k close and and again at beyond 14k.
History will remember the man who made this economy happen.
13.
It’s I-guys format (not moUrning joe). That format is a morning show, No one will listen/watch him in the evening.
—-
But the real question is:
Can anyone tell me why it’s OK for the guest host of oberman, an Msnbc tv show, to specifically call out the wife of a US Senator and call her a HO and a Prostitute because she The host, believes her attire looks Ho -ish?
And it’s not OK for the I-Guy to generally say the members of a team look like Hos.
Bearing in mind that this is the same network MSNBC, that FIRED the I-Guy and MSNBC will NOT FIRE the girl who offended equally, the wife of a US SENATOR ?
You want to talk about double standards ?…………….

CNN/Youtube.. Bad idea, lets hope youtube is advertising it to death as well.
But Glen Beck numbers are better in the 9pm repeat that in the original time. I wonder if HN is going to do anything about that.

Hmmm, MSDNC won’t fire Alison Stewart because she, like Olbermann, is a pea-brained, militant leftist dingbat. Imus is also a leftist, but you can bet your last penny that the so-called “Reverend” Al Sharpton won’t protest a comment by an identically, like-minded buffoon (i.e., Alison Stewart) who shares the same skin color with Sharpton.

Whats going on with KO? it seems that he’s getting 700k viewers a night on the average.
Comment by chi — July 18, 2007 @ 8:09 am
I’m copying my comment (from another thread), as I see it’s discussed in this thread also:
Pp, maybe I wouldn’t go after Fox, although I doubt whether anyone except Greg Gutfeld (shown at 2 a.m.!!!) would do such a thing. But I did with MSNBC, because it was THEY who dumped Imus for the exact same words. Does the “victim” have to be black for the slur to be in effect?
As I’ve mentioned before, I was no longer a fan of Imus, but believe he was treated poorly in his dismissal, and was not allowed to exhibit his obvious contrition. But he made that remark at the spur of the moment. Contrast this to what happened with MSNBC and Mrs. Vitter - it sounds premeditated in nature, since they even had a guest on to discuss same and had prepared graphics to show along with the story!!!
Again, the idiot(s) who came up with this idea should be removed from the broadcast, exactly as was done with Imus and his people.

I watched my usual 5-10 minutes of MJ this morning before I got bored and there was an exchange between Donald Trump and Mika that was horrifying. I honestly cannot believe they have that woman on there. Who cares who her father was?
Comment by jules — July 18, 2007 @ 10:06 am
Hey Jules and Hmmm.. if you hate MSNBC so much– STOP WATCHING and wasting your time going online to throw hate around! You’re both pathetic. You probably are bitter because you can’t get a job there– or anywhere. Get a life!!!!!!!

We IMUS fans are big on free speech…if you can’t handle that concept, perhaps you should spend time elsewhere. If you don’t recognize a trainwreck when you see one…wellyou just keep watching MSNBC. My sympathies.

beachbum… I expect you’ve posted the same thing over at Newshounds? No? Gee… how interesting.
Comment by ImNotBlue — July 18, 2007 @ 6:06 pm
Imus is a leftist? Feel free to add others, but I’m not sure there is a hard-core lefty among any of the politicians he’s flogged over the last few years. He mostly goes for centrists from both parties: McCain; Harold Ford, Jr., Biden, Lieberman, Dodd. The one guy he pushed whom I’d call hardcore, was a conservative, Rick Santorum.
Comment by chalmers — July 18, 2007 @ 10:29 pm
Chris Dodd is a centrist? Does he know that?
BTW, one glaring omission from your list: John Kerry. But, since you only singled out politicians, I can assume it was because his normal guest list consisted primarily of those entrenched on the left (Alter, Begala, Cox, Rich, etc.) and it wouldn’t have played as well when trying to present the case that he wasn’t really on the left. By that token, one could point to Sean Hannity’s guest list and say similar things about his being a GOP shill.
Wouldn’t be accurate, of course. Imus is a good guy who got screwed and isn’t a “leftist” in the mold of Ted Kennedy, but he was and is demonstrably on the left.
And, yes, John Kerry is a hard core lefty.
