I hope that with the signing of Dietl, that IMUS won’t be far behind…I can see IMUS in the Morning on FOX…hey, if I can start watching FOX, since I am no longer friendly with MSNBC, IMUS can surely sign with them.

No room for IMUS in the Morning on FNC but they could give him primetime slots on FBN.

Thus the Imus link with MSNBC is further severed. Look for IMUS to be over at fox this fall with HUGE ratings. This may be something very, very different than before. I guess we’ll have to hang on and see what they come up with.

JUST SO LONG AS HE’S BACK ON THE AIR…IT’S GETTING OLD..MY MORNINGS ARE BLAH W/O IMUS.

All I want to read is the headline “Don Imus to Return” somewhere, someplace preferably BEFORE January..97 days and counting

Good Grief! I hope this means they are getting rid of the awful Rod Wheeler!
He has fooled enough people for enough time.

Dick Morris should be thrilled, Imus referred to his old boss’ wife as “satan”. I would think any heat tossed hil’s way would make Morris very happy.

Good for Bo - it’s a good fit. Now if Dick Morris can rise above the toe sucking prostitute thing, Bill Clinton gets forgiven for Monica et al, then surely Don Imus deserves a second chance.

Dick Morris should be thrilled. “Why don’t you come over and make me shutup, Dick Morris dot com.” That was priceless.
I hope Imus is right behind him.

Okay, Where in the heck is Imus going to be??? I am so curious!!! Is it going to be on FBN?
Comment by Noelle — July 19, 2007 @ 4:56 pm
I read everything I can on Imus’ return. Looks like September…think it will be CBS Radio, but don’t, for the life of me, know where it will be on cable…..I, too, am counting the days…even Al Sharpton knows it was a mistake, and has given an interview to the AP that Imus should be allowed to “make a living.” We’re all waiting….
Comment by cas — July 19, 2007 @ 5:17 pm
What’s with Sharpton’s change of heart? He certainly didn’t feel as if Imus was entitled to make a living a few months ago.
And what’s with this “make a living” statement? Imus is a gazillionaire; he’s got enough $ for ten lifetimes to support himself and his family.

#12 Missy - I’m sure Imus’s desire to return has far less to do with money than it does leaving a long radio career on such a sour note. If I were in his shoes, I wouldn’t want it all to end based on three “controversial” words.
Anyway, they could make Imus fit on FBN - he could fill the 6-9 spot and they could switch to business oriented programming when the market opens at 9am. I don’t know if he is the perfect fit for what is supposed to be a business news network, but these days I don’t think people would make that big a deal out of it.
Personally I don’t see Imus getting syndicated back to cable unless MSNBC picks him back up, and that would be hard considering they were the first to cut him loose and afterwards said on the network that it went further with them than that one statement. In other words, it would be tough to spin a return to MSNBC…personally I don’t think he would want to go back. He’s a radio guy….the cable syndication was a bonus.

Imus in the Morning will bring back all his viewers ($) so someone would be crazy not to put him back on cable.
Comment by julie — July 19, 2007 @ 7:17 pm
I agree about Imus wanting to return and retire in a few years on his own terms. Whether you love him or hate him, the man has had a brilliant long-term career and deserves this and so do his loyal fans.

Dietl is the sorry sack that said publicly he was going to destroy Andrea Mackris on behalf of Bill O’Reilly

Cella: You can never have enough good detectives!
Besides, they’ll have different crime beats. Wheeler is DC based while Bo is in NYC.

The last Bo Dietl story going around was that he was so determined to get on “The Sopranos” that he got his buddy, Rao’s restaurant owner Frank Pellegrino, to put in a good word with David Chase. Pellegrino had a recurring role has the head of the New Jersey FBI bureau investigating Tony.
It apparently didn’t go over too well with Chase. Dietl didn’t get anywhere, and Pellegrino never appeared on the show again, despite the fact that Tony’s dealings with the FBI were a big subplot in the final season.

I don’t think it’s about Imus making a living, per se. It’s about Imus still being ‘out there’ to talk up his charities…ranch, etc. to make a difference…and to, ultimately, have enough $$$ to continue his ranch without his salary..and, as someone said, to leave on his own terms, which after almost 40 years in broadcasting, he should be able to do…

Imus - Fox - Rupert M. Fantastic! Bring him on! How can you possibly lose?!
Comment by Donna — July 20, 2007 @ 10:57 am
Donna,
I am in agreement, Fox can put Imus on the air and it doesn’t have to be at 4 in the morning, they have radio and tv, I don’t doubt Imus would mind being on a little later in the morning. I know Bo Dietl wrote a book because he plugged it on Imus in the Morning. Bo is fun and I appreciate that he stood up for Imus and the Imus in the Morning Crew. I think Harold Ford Jr., is a Fox Contributor also how many people and who, that were on MSNBC since April Imus firing, have moved to Fox?
Comment by Ree — July 20, 2007 @ 12:17 pm
There’s really only ONE place for Imus’ phoenix to rise:
Hosting BET’s comedians and hip-hop acts. He could play the Ed Sullivan role, then switch to reaction shots whenever an act uses terms, images and allusions close to what got him thrown off the air in the first place.
