Liz Claman out at CNBC…
TVNewser scoops that Liz Claman has left CNBC. I thought CNBC had all their talent locked up “for years”? Guess not. Anyone want to start a pool on how long before FBN calls her agent?

She’s probably there already!
Also, I remember reading that she and Geraldo are friends, but we should not hold that against her.
Comment by Missy — July 19, 2007 @ 4:37 pm
Liz is hot but for some reason she couldn’t keep me on the channel for very long. I guess it boils down to her not being very interesting, IMO.
Comment by Terance — July 19, 2007 @ 4:49 pm
Got to disagree with you on this one Terance. She has the best personality on CNBC, imho. Hope she shows up on FBN.
Comment by Lurker — July 19, 2007 @ 5:40 pm
I’m definitely not trying to pick a fight with Lurker (honest!), but while she DOES have a very nice, sweet personality, once again, Liz is not NEARLY as knowledgable as some of her fellow co-anchors. It wasn’t just one big thing, but just little things here and there that would show how, despite her experience, she wasn’t fully able to utilize it to her advantage. She was popular for her nice legs and large you-know-whats (please don’t delete this Spud!)…not her hard-hitting interviews (except with Warren Buffett, who definitely had a thing for her). I can definitely see her and Alexis co-hosting “Fox Close” or something like that.
Despite that, I’m really going to miss watching her everyday…best of luck to her!

It’s cool, You might be right on. She’s definitely not the most knowledgable at CNBC but she holds her own. Yes, She’s probably most popular due to her large you know what’s lol, add that with her looks, red head and great personality = lots of fans.
Comment by Lurker — July 19, 2007 @ 7:09 pm
It’s a shame. I loved Liz Clayman. I hate Fox News. I remember liking Neill Cavuto a lot before he stopped doing business roundtable chat and went to Fox and became a conservative talk show host. I doubt that will happen to Liz but I’m not gonna watch to find out.
Comment by Larry B — July 26, 2007 @ 12:16 am
i think that she dident get along with michelle.they settle things between them.she lost and left.
Comment by jose — July 26, 2007 @ 4:19 pm
I had no idea my blog post from last week would lead to her firing! She was nice eye candy…Larry B grow up.
Comment by Christien Louviere — July 26, 2007 @ 10:37 pm
Liz Claman was CNBC’s answer to aerojel, a solid that’s 99.8% empty. Since CNBC has lost it’s way, I sure hope she isn’t moving over to Fox.
Comment by Bill — July 31, 2007 @ 1:46 pm
CNBC all talking heads, pumping NEGATIVE news all day. Try Bloomberg and pray for Fox Business News to start ASAP
Comment by Peter — August 1, 2007 @ 8:53 pm
Who is the JERK who lets the talented people go? Liz was teriffic and if she flubed once o a whle, that just made her human. Why not dump big, dopey Steve Leisman…what a bozo!
Comment by Michael Cooney — August 2, 2007 @ 10:39 am
i miss Liz—she had a great personality and she parle francaise. Good luck to her!!!
Comment by d. miller — August 3, 2007 @ 10:35 am
Where is Liz’s calm demeanour during these trying times in the stock market? I had to turn off Maria B. with her shrill excitement during the mini crash and afterward. If I wanted screaming I’d go to the Fox channel. Maybe Liz will bring some dignity to the Fox channel.
Comment by Gloria A. Johnson — August 4, 2007 @ 12:17 pm
I couldn’t stand her. Annoying. Gazed at me on the other end as though I was in Sunday school, talking down with that know-it-all sexy smile. That kind of brand doesn’t belong on a business news outlet where the anxious viewer is looking for clues to financial health. The news is always serious stuff, and love-making belongs elsewhere. You get the feeling that not one of them has a stake in the market. God knows what Fox Biz Channel will bring to the franchise. Well, there’s always Bloomberg.
Comment by John Clark — August 7, 2007 @ 3:12 pm
Julia B is searching for a hair identity. But the curls are the way to go, naturally. Maybe she could use a steak or two, but that’s easier than taking it away.
Comment by cheddasbetta — August 8, 2007 @ 12:47 pm
these are same suits who took Mark Haynes off of Squawk. It has been horrible ever since. It had been the only watchable show on CNBC. Lets hope FOX doesnt try and hire Cramer. CNBC has hitched their wagon this clown and it could end their rein as King of Financial News. FOX is gonna trounce these guys.
What would you rather watch a test patter or Donny Deugsthshshht
Comment by jake smith — August 10, 2007 @ 8:58 am
Note to John Clark. Neither Liz nor any other employee of CNBC are allowed to own individual stocks. I believe they can own funds. It is contractual and it makes sense.
Comment by Ed Draper — August 10, 2007 @ 10:57 am
how do newswoman fix there personal problems with eachother?
Comment by jose — August 11, 2007 @ 4:34 pm
I really liked her and will miss her deeply! She was sincere and communicated well with the viewers.
Comment by ernie rogers — August 12, 2007 @ 9:53 pm
Regarding Liz, the girl was real eye candy, but knew nothing. As for Maria, she should hawk hot dogs in Yankee Stadium. What a voice–ugh!
Comment by terrance jeffreys — August 13, 2007 @ 12:01 am
liz claman was easily one of the best anchors CNBC had. she is very beautiful but also had great interaction with co-anchors and guests.
Comment by jason — August 13, 2007 @ 8:56 am
I guess they lost their interest in her like Ted David, both very competant reporters and genuinely interesting people. Yes, people will go to Fox and they will still keeep guys like Liesman, who makes his own policy as he goes along and I can’t follow 50% of the goble-gook that he expouses as well as arguing and showing anger on his face when he doesn’t agree with Ron Insana or Rick Santelli. I guess it’s tough being a PHd. and believing that you are the supreme source of the truth!!!
Comment by Barry Reinhard — August 13, 2007 @ 11:36 am
I miss Liz. I agree that she had her weaknesses but those weaknesses can be perceived as strengths in comparison to the qualifications of some of the other, newer commentators, male and female. I wish her luck
Comment by Stuart — August 13, 2007 @ 1:40 pm
I loved Liz and thought she was one of the more positive anchors on CNBC, which I watch all day, every day, while the market is open. Who is Trish Regan, where did she come from, why is she there? She comes across as very bitchy, although attractive. There is no sweetness in her personality, which was Liz’s strength. And I agree with other comments about Liesman and Santelli that their constant arguing and insistence on the rightness of their positions is annoying and unprofessional. They are both obnoxious egomaniacs. And Mark Haines should have retired years ago.
Comment by Jim T — August 15, 2007 @ 11:07 am
Miss Liz; way too much Dylan! I’m leaving; you can get stock prices anywhere.
Comment by Donna Wheeler — August 16, 2007 @ 2:10 pm
Ratigan and Leisman have to go. Big mouths with big egos. I can’t wait for FOX (I can’t get Blumberg here). Also too many comercials, which are alays the same - what am I paying for cable for? I think I’ll watch the first and last hour.
Comment by Barry — August 20, 2007 @ 11:35 am
Ratigan and Liesman have big mouth and big egoes, so I just won’t watch them anymore. I’m also sick of commercials every 2 minutes, after all what are we paying for cable for? Isn’t this the antithesis of commercial TV? I don’t think so. I can’wait for FOX and yes, they can keep Cramer too!!!! Until then I’ll watch the opening and closing.
and be entertained by Andy Griffith or Leave it to beaver.
Comment by Barry — August 20, 2007 @ 11:55 am
I miss Liz not just for her looks, but she had a pleasant personality and gave life to an otherwise dry subject which most of the guests definatly do not. She and Mark were a good pairing.
Comment by Doug Campbell — August 20, 2007 @ 10:58 pm
What happened to Ted David? He’s been gobe for a year, but still does CNBC Bujsiness News for WCBS in New York (??). What is his full-time gig these days?
Comment by Mark — August 21, 2007 @ 2:50 pm
I liked Liz…it’s Maria “the screaming banshee” Bartiromo who ought to be shown the door.
Maria is self-absorbed and is chronically hair-challenged ….but that shreiking voice just as I am about to nod off-for a quick nap is like fingernails on a chalk board.
Comment by Paul H — August 21, 2007 @ 3:27 pm
Ted David got screwed. Some blamed it on Liz, others his openness and being willing to express is own opinions. So he was put on an NBC radio program. Is he still there? I don’t know. When they get some competition, they (CNBC) will try to shore things up and get rid of more peoople. Ron Insana was smart and now has his own consulting firm. Maria is there for her looks and connections. Hurry FOX, we are waiting.
Comment by Barry — August 21, 2007 @ 5:41 pm
You are all hyper critical. How well would you do in the same circumstance? Liz, minor foibles and all, is a lady. Polished and dignified. A pleasant change from the usual nasal delivery. She has a wonderful voice (as does Sue Herera). CNBC was fortunate to have her. Their loss will be another’s gain.
Comment by Bill — August 21, 2007 @ 7:16 pm
Liz is a smart woman who probably had a deal in the hopper before leaving CNBC.Maybe her agent brokered it! look for her on FOX maybe CNN. Besides her obvious attributes I know she is a chartiable woman, has a sense of humor, and the inner warmth of a “nice Jewish girl” all of which Warren B. fell for too!
Comment by Steve — August 24, 2007 @ 12:54 am
Sue Herera seems to be fake. She seems to overemphasize her husband being a doctor. Also she seems to try to come across as some kind of saint. I do not enjoy watching or listening to her at all. I would choose listening to Liz or any of the others anytime.
Comment by jacr6087@hotmail.com — August 24, 2007 @ 1:00 am
Why CNBC replaced Liz Claymen with these 20 somethings - who have little market experience is beyond me. I switch to Bloomberg whenever Erin Burnett comes on. I love SUe Herera
Comment by Bob C — August 25, 2007 @ 10:16 am
i thought liz clayman was informative and i enjoyed her broadcasts. sue herara has nothing to say–absolutely nothing. she is fat and matronally and acs like a prima dona whatever liz does i wish her hte best.
Comment by sam ironrod — August 25, 2007 @ 1:55 pm
I’m laughing at all these Liz C.comments…well, for those of you who thought she didn’t know much, WAKE UP! 90% of the questions and material are fed to ALL these anchors from producers and teleprompters so you may as well, have a hot, personable, soothing voice to deliver it!!! The others may “appear” to be more knowledgable or “pointed” but that’s because they’re probably more wrapped up in the Wall Street RHETORIC and they’re injecting more personal opinion that is just as MISLEADING or ARGUMENTATIVE. Liz and Ted were the most professional…Michelle Caruso is sharp, intelligent and hotter than she “shows”…Joe is a pisser…David F. is cool…the Asian couldn’t be any more PLASTIC…Diana Olick is quietly hot…and yes, there are enough CACKLES(?)with the rest of them to make me lower the sound. This CNBC “younger, cold, plastic look” AIN’T working for me…i’d rather listen to the ONLY HONEST GUY ON THERE (oops, the name escapes me…the old, bald guy with the crooked mouth…is it “Sid”???) ALL DAY!!!
Comment by alan b — August 26, 2007 @ 8:35 am
I really miss Liz Claman. She was professional with a good sense of humor and came across as genuine. I wish her well wherever she lands. I think Erin Burnett is remarkable, hard working, thorough and quick on her feet. I miss Ron Insana who was, in my opinion, the best in the realm of financial news. The worst, without question, is Dylan Ratigan who is the Pat O’brien of financial news. I go to Bloomberg whenever he is on. I don’t think he would even be welcome on the new FBN.
Comment by Don H — August 27, 2007 @ 3:30 pm
Liz was good, a lot better than Maria thats for sure. But CNBC needs some competition. Squawk Box is a joke, Maria is like a high school cheerleader, and Erin Burnett and Cramer, well enough said.
Comment by rod — August 28, 2007 @ 10:43 am
I really miss Liz…She was HOT, in a classy kinda way…Liz will land on her feet because she is SOOOOO competent…Can’t wait for Fox to launch…The losers who dumped her will regret the day as they watch the ratings go far south….But what can we expect from the suits, who are so out of it, as to cast their lot with the likes of Jim Cramer and Keith Oberman…(The two stations are very much connected)…I love you , LIZ….Warren C
Comment by Warren C — August 28, 2007 @ 4:57 pm
I miss Liz. She was one of the women on the show that didn’t bug me. This one now, acts like a cheerleader and it drives me crazy. I pray that Liz will show up one day soon, because she does her job really well. I thought maybe Warren Buffet had offered her something, I think he really liked her.
Comment by Jeanne Massey — August 30, 2007 @ 11:04 am
Are they kidding with this switch. I gave it some time but Trish “Good to see you” Reagan is only another a pretty contrast to Dylan but “THAT SAID” she is annoying as hell and totally out of her league. If they have any sense at all they will grovel to get Liz to come back with a big raise.
Comment by Fred — August 31, 2007 @ 3:46 pm
Liz was informative - Trish needs to be selling clothes at Dress Barn - and not to insult Dress Barn. Ron Insana, Rick Santelli, Eric Bollinger need to work or be consultants with Fox. Fox will easily be the leading stock channel within 6 months. Fox will hire the professionals and not teleprompter readers. CNBC gets on one topic and rides it in the ground all day long because the show producers find it easy to keep repeating the same story.. and that Stop Trading segment with Erin Burnett and Jim Cramer has turned into a shout fest no real information is produced…that is a real joke - the ones that have left could not even stand their own network —- Fox will take charge of the business channel network.
Comment by Jon — September 6, 2007 @ 11:58 am
Really miss Liz Clayman - I thought she was a calm in a storm of negative talking heads . . . now I just turn my television to “mute” when all that arguing and shouting starts . . . hope they bring her back and clean up their act!
Comment by Ron W. — September 6, 2007 @ 5:13 pm
I really miss Liz - seems CNBC has turned into a shouting match most of the time - did like Cramer - but recently he has become obsessed with yelling at other people . . . good luck Liz
Comment by Ron W. — September 6, 2007 @ 5:17 pm
I enjoyed Liz’s on air personality and style. I especially liked her pairing with Ted David, who was a very personable and knowledgeable anchor.
Any deterioration in the quality of the broadcasting on CNBC should be squarely placed at the feet of Tyler Matheson, as he became the managing director and is the architect of the new CNBC. How a bland on air persona could identify and then direct the on air presentations is beyond me.
I don’t like what Murdoch is orchestrating, but in a few years, when CNBC’s deal with WSJ lapses, Fox will be the place to be, unless Bloomberg joins NBC.
Comment by George A. — September 7, 2007 @ 11:08 am
Liz C. The dullest tool in the CNBC shed. Not capable. Without the teleprompter - CLUELESS !
Comment by will — September 13, 2007 @ 7:34 am
Liz had a pretty smile but a busted profile. CNBC hasn’t been the same since it broke up the original Squawk Box crew (I saw Joe Witte on the Red Line in DC the other day, he was quite pleasant). It appears the recent moves are being done in anticipation of the relaunching of FNN (e.g. young pretty faces, loud men).
Comment by C — September 13, 2007 @ 10:37 am
I think CNBC is trying to preposition itself with regard to the upcoming Fox channel by letting people like Clayman go–becoming more strident, more provocative, more self-hyping.
It won’t work. They “shouldn’t mud-wrestle with a pig. They will lose, and the pig loves it.”
Comment by dchestney — September 17, 2007 @ 11:51 am
she did have nice oo but so does half the females on cnbc.the crowd at mcdonalds in sarasota watching tv with there mcmuffins needs somthing to look at!!must be in job description.same old story on tv she got replaced with someone younger and hotter.sue will be next to go imho
Comment by john — September 18, 2007 @ 12:20 pm
I like Liz the best. When she was working I call her at cnbc.A very nice”REAL” person.
Comment by Frank — September 19, 2007 @ 1:02 pm
Count me in as missing Liz, too. I found her to be knowledgeable and charming.
Comment by Michael — September 19, 2007 @ 6:42 pm
I miss Liz, too. As for Maria, when she comes on, I have to put the TV on “mute” and switch to closed captioning. Can’t someone give her voice lessons? As for this Liesman/Santelli thing, it’s obnoxious. Why can’t they come back to earth and speak in a language we could all understand. And if I hear “having said that”, or “that having been said”, I think I will barf!! Now, having said that, I will go get another cup of coffee.
Comment by Julie — September 24, 2007 @ 10:53 am
i miss Liz i’m from boston and i admired her here and was very disappointed when she left. i hope she’ll be back soon and be able to find a venue she’ll be happy with.
Comment by sandy — November 26, 2007 @ 6:07 pm
Check the bio’s out on cnbc-Liz Claman and Ted David had to be the least knowledgeable of the group. They reported news however couldn’t really engaged those they interviewed. Best of luck on plan B
Comment by Dan — November 30, 2007 @ 12:46 pm
What was the name of the person who Liz worked with at times at CNBC. Joe ??????? He was Irish and had reddish hair.
Comment by Edie Anderson — February 12, 2008 @ 1:11 pm
I am happy to see Clayman go. However, the Trish Regan with annoying nasal voice is even more horrible. Steve Leisman makes me turn the TV off. HOpe my cable provider can provide Fox business news soon.
Comment by Sonucooper — March 18, 2008 @ 10:16 am
Most of the girls are nice to look at….but they TALK TOO
MUCH!!! And if you get two or God help us, three of them
discussing something, FORGET IT!!! And they dont let guests
express their views and opinions without constantly interjecting their own views and opinions. What’s the
point of having guests????????? Trish Reagan is one of
the worst at this game.
Comment by Ed Duran — April 25, 2008 @ 9:49 am
Liz Claman was the BEST THING CNBC EVER HAD. When she left, i left. Finally found her on Fox. She looks happier and hotter than ever. Goodbye CNBC. LIZ IS MY LOVE, HOT BABE!
Comment by Ruh Roh — August 30, 2008 @ 8:38 pm
Liz Clayman is knowlegeable, kute and klever. her interview with James Roberts of the Heritage Foundation and an American Trucking Exec displayed her abilty to manage an interview and get some sense ouy of it. I had to agree with Mr. Robert’s position.
