Olberman acts like he does because thats what his target audience thinks of a "intelligent"

No matter how you cut it MSNBC made a huge mistake going after the Far Left crowd instead of staying relatively moderate left like they where when they intitally started.
MSNBC atm simply sucks in general and its ratings show that.

As for Imus..FOX should try to pick him up.
It would be a good agreement for both. FOX would gain a popular personality and Imus would gain a much larger viewership. I cannot imagine Imus going back to MSNBC after the way they left him out to dry.
FOX doesn't need him or anything since it clearly dominates cable news but IF Imus wants to come back and is avilable he is a good sized catch for anyone who can hook him.

I will miss peoplepeople/Dan Abrams. He had some good comments sometimes, admit it folks, it was entertaining seeing him "spin" & "plant" here for MS-NBC. Perhaps his "Live" cable show is taking up too much of his time.

#27 Mary Snow: From reading your comments over the past months, you actually are describing yourself more than peoplepeople.

To eddiebear (#25): I mentioned this before but another reason for all the "special comments" is he has to fill up an up coming book (and with that title I think we can safely say that look for them to focus on Bush):
Truth and Consequences: Special Comments on the Bush Administration's War on American Values by Keith Olbermann(Random House, to be released December 26, 2007)

Me, Bill's ratings are always high so I never noticed a difference. Nothing stands out to me on Wednesdays that he does different. It's Bill, He's numero uno!!!

In an unrelated question, does BO do anything different on his Wednesday night show? More talking points? More letters? More... something? Extra something? His ratings on Wednesdays are often higher than any other night of the week.

His wild claim and insult aside, I'm going to miss "Pe*ple" and also "Hm*m."

I enjoyed the banter with both and regret that they strayed off the reservation.

"Coming from me, and insider working within the cable news industry, good luck with your blog. And good night to you and your pathetic, ‘intelligent’ patrons."

Buh bye you pathetic creep. Peoplepeople was the nastiest, most full of vitriole idiot I have ever seen, taking shots at everyone, name calling and repeating stupid lies as if they were truth. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

As far as being a "cable news insider", just because you pick up the channels on your tinhat, doesn't make you an insider, although you do have the snotty attitude and low IQ to make you a cable news executive. :P

Another Special Comment already? That's two in as many weeks. This fits hos pattern, though. Whenever his "lock" on 2nd falters, or he pulls an outrageous stunt that draws venom from his critics (this week it was the ho-pas thing), he responds with one of his Special Comments. Notice a pattern?

Willie Geist should get his own show.
Would Imus want to go back to MSNBC?
Would a biz channel (FBN) want a radio simulcast in the morning? Wouldn't they want to start off their run with as much biz as possible. People would criticize FBN if they had a radio simulcast on in the morning. FBN needs to be as BIZ as possible.

Number 17,
He is the biggest jerk on cable news. I peeped in tonight to get a look at the creep. Is he wearing a rug?
Short hair in front and long hair on top of his head?
Looks suspicious to me.

Pretty simple answer, Spud. They’re pushing Abrams show because… Abrams is the boss, he has a huge ego, and he’s making them push his show.

The question wasn't why they're pushing Abrams. That's obvious and not for your conspiracy theory reason. It's because the ratings were suffering a bit with Joe not there and the slot needed an identity to rebound. The question for me is why isn't Morning Joe getting pushed?

Morning Joe could be a good show, but I wouldn't know since I have boycotted MSNBC. Why should I watch a network that clearly does not support free speech?

I see Larry King has been nipping at the heels of H&C this week. Tonight's LKL may pull big numbers as he has Tammy Faye as his guest. This poor lady is so very sick...she has been in hospice care for months. It will be interesting to see if Larry asks dumb and inappropriate questions of this woman of her death bed.

Pretty simple answer, Spud. They're pushing Abrams show because... Abrams is the boss, he has a huge ego, and he's making them push his show.

And since Scarborough doesn't fit their political agenda, perhaps they're hoping his show fails.

I liked Tucker too but they quickly settled on Joe and Mika - Mika is unbearable and John Ridley is boring. I've switched to Fox until the I-Man returns, soon I hope.

OK, I'm new to this blog. I had no idea O'Reilly was crushing everybody so badly! I'm now confused as to where Keith Olbermann's ego originated from!

I agree about the possibility that Imus could return to WFAN & MSNBC this September, but man, oh man, are some of those phony MSNBCers gonna get an earful then! Still think Imus in morning drive on the new Fox Biz makes much more sense. "Morning Joe" couldn't be saved by Willie Geist any more than "Tucker" could, even if Geist is, by far, the best thing on MSNBC.

Now....if the return of Imus means Keith-O will resign in protest.....Wow! A win-win-win situation!

I have a feeling that Abrams knows that "Morning Joe" is not the permanent answer for their morning slot, so he is considered a long-term, temporary fill-in. If the show, by some miracle, should take off then they'll start promoting it. Otherwise, they seem content to wade through the summer and perhaps bring a new host on board after Labor Day.

Then they'll have to find another spot for Scarborough...personally I think they should dump the Hardball repeat and have original programming from 5pm to 10pm. The Tucker-Hardball-Tucker-Hardball bloc was pretty dumb.
