  1. Wonder why the ratings and comments were disabled…god forbid we ask what the hell “sales prime” is and who the heck uses it…

  2. Its a joke, obviously. When the bridge collapse, MSNBC was beating CNN?

  3. People tune into MSNBC to see reruns of “To Catch a Predator” episodes on the weekends. They do NOT tune in to watch breaking news.

  4. The only show i watch on msnbc is Tucker, which i believe is its lowest rated show. not sure what that says bout me.

  5. its my imagination or CNN have a american flag on the screen now? .pff

  6. CNN has added a flag to the L3 when they are covering the Bridge Collapse. Back on topic, I love the style of MSNBC’s commercial, and congrats to the network on the win! Abrams is actually an interesting watch every once in awhile, though I’ll probably stick with the half-asleep man or tabloid debate.

  7. The “flag” I saw was somewhat subliminal and didn’t even notice until somebody posted. It was sort of “flowing” through the L3’s but not like a regular static bug.

Back to the subject at hand. If MSNBC ran docs that dealt with current events similar to CNN & FNC.. then I wouldn’t have a problem with their claim. However, basically having LOCKUP & TCAP “anchoring” the doc block makes the numbers disingenuous, in my opinion. Yet, the numbers don’t lie and they have improved ratings. The bottom line is, there are a lot more people who aren’t news junkies than are. So, 20 people or so (excluding those with multiple names on here :>) is hardly enough to demand a change.

  8. Well, with that low viewers they can only grow…

  9. Their #s are up. The strategy seems to be to have enough docs to keep showing improvement. If they show too many docs now, they will have too much improvement in the #s now, and no improvement next year. I think, when Tucker Carlson’s contract runs out later this year, that Abram’s will move to the 6pm slot, and we’ll have one more doc at 9pm Monday-Thursday.

  10. erljr, I don’t know about that. Abrams already had a 6 p.m. program a few years ago, then it was cancelled, brought back, and then moved to 9 p.m. (I may have things out of sequence here). But I hope they keep Tucker around. He’s not the greatest, but he’s by far the best thing on MSNBC, IMO.

    Nice ad from MSNBC btw.

Oh… we are talking about domestic networks…

  12. That’s a great ad Rod. Wish I had CNNI. It would get great ratings in my home.

  13. Remind me of when Blitzer won the demo last March and they ran ads. It’s like a boxer making a big deal out of winning a round, when they always lose the match. It’s embarassing.
