  2. Wow! That’s the closest I’ve ever seen American Morning come to FOX & Friends! It’s pretty clear that when major stories break, people who usually don’t watch cable news or those that don’t have a particular preference end up turning to Cnn. I think it’s because it’s been around the longest and is the most established. FOX & Friends held on to their usual audience and added a couple hundred thousand more, but American Morning more than doubled their usual numbers. Kiran and John are getting it in gear!

  3. Too bad for Paula those aren’t regular numbers. Regardless, like Nelson of the Simpsons, HA-HA! to Olby for another poor showing. 4th in the demo, heartbreaking. Nearly fourth overall. What ever will he do?

  4. But right after this story’s legs runs out, CNN will be right back to where they were before. “American Morning” is a borning show. I bet Kiran wishes she was back at Fox. Or she will soon enough when she ends up like Paula.

And if Fox and Friends would ever get around to dumping Gretchen and Alyson there numbers might be back up to where they belong.

I don’t know which is more annoying??!

  5. WTF… Tucker 279,000 viewers at 6PM and 1 million watching CNN and another million watching Fox News… Even Ericka have better numbers…

  6. I’ll bet you those additional viewers for “American Morning” can’t name you who the Vice President is or who the Secretary of State is at the moment.. They’ll be back to watching “Gunsmoke” and “The Munsters” on TV Land come next Monday Morning..

  7. Those CNN viewers will go back to normal viewing next week. Don’t get too excited “Cali”

  8. Wow, MSNBC needs help, those numbers are sad.

  9. Paula Zahn did well on her final night. And the O’Reilly/Dodd debate, along with the across the board MN bridge disaster bump, pushed the O’Reilly Factor over 600,000 in the demo.

  10. Cali: On the other side of the coin, with 304,000 viewers on a heavy news day, “Morning Joe,” probably reached its absolute peak.

  11. Hey mary i bet you were one of those million watching cnn. Too bad no one close to ya works there anymore!

    Comment by Me — August 3, 2007 @ 10:18 pm

  12. It’s kinda sad that despite the breaking news, Morning Shmoe could barely eek by Robin and Co. Luckily Paula got a nice send-off though.
