Mine collapse: FNC coverage notes…
After the news broke this morning of the coal mine collapse in central Utah, FNC interviewed the Mayor of the town where the mine was located about the 6 miners who were trapped. Mayor Hillary Gordon expressed her concern and said, “Our chief prayer and hope is that these miners are rescued safely and that they are unharmed.” She went on to talk about the how in small towns everyone is “so connected’ and “We all know the people there, and are related to those people. When you have small towns, we are all literally related. Our concern is for everyone.”
UPDATE: FNC spoke with Bob Murray, the owner of the mining company Murray Energy Corp involved in the collapse. “There’s a very, very good chance that we’ll find these men totally unblemished in any way and in great condition,” Murray said. He went on to say, “I take the safety of my employees to bed with me every night.” FNC’s Trace Gallagher interviewed Greg Phillips who lost his cousin in the Sago mine disaster in West Virginia. “It is a vicious way to have to think about your loved one and what they’re doing and whether they’re all right and how they’re handling the situation,” Phillips said.

Hope that no one is injured in this fatal accident…

Ok let the countdown begin…how long before someone in the MSM blames Bush and the war in Iraq for this?

mlong, I think you asked that question last week regarding the bridge accident. But about 3 seconds after leaving this site, I saw it somewhere: it was Bush’s fault because the money was being spent in Iraq. Of course!
Finally, a few days later, John McCain mentioned that Congress hogged the money for frivilous earmarks, while ignoring things less “sexy”(I actually heard someone say this) such as bridge repair. Apparently there are lots of light rail projects and other such programs out there, such as new bridges and new roads (not necessarily needed, of course), so bridge repair seems to be at the bottom of the list as far as the visibility these congress crooks can garner for supporting such repairs.

Hope that no one is injured in this fatal accident.
Dedicated: But it is not fatal until someone dies!
I occasionally used to drive past this mine on my way to Fairview, Utah.

“mlong, I think you asked that question last week regarding the bridge accident.”Missy
Yea I also brought it up on Olbermann Watch and one of the KO defenders jumped on me for daring to suggest such a thing..of course right on cue the next day KO blamed Bush for the bridge collapse.(sometimes it so hard being so right..) :)
But thats how things work when ever something like this happens now there are now elements in the MSM…whose first reaction is …”How can we blame Bush”..mark my words if it already hasn’t happen someone will float the idea that somehow this is Bush’s fault.
