Keith Olbermann, host of MSNBC’s “Countdown with Keith Olbermann,” will moderate the AFL-CIO’s Democratic Presidential Forum Tuesday, August 7. The forum will telecast and stream live on MSNBC and MSNBC.com from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. (ET). More than 10,000 union members and their families from around the country will attend the forum at Soldier Field in Chicago, to hear top Democratic candidates spell out their vision for the nation. Immediately following the forum, Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann will anchor special post-forum coverage with interviews and analysis from 8:30 to 10:00 p.m. (ET).
Candidates confirmed for the event include Senator Joe Biden, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Senator Christopher Dodd, former Senator John Edwards, U.S. Representative. Dennis Kucinich, Senator Barack Obama and New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson.
This is the first presidential forum that Olbermann, an award winning broadcaster, journalist and author, will moderate. Olbermann has anchored “Countdown” since its launch in 2003. He also co-anchors MSNBC’s election coverage with Chris Matthews.MSNBC will telecast the presidential forum from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. as part of the network’s special “Super Tuesday” coverage. MSNBC’s Chris Jansing will anchor dayside coverage live from Chicago and will contribute live reports during the post-forum coverage from the “Spin Room.” Additional dayside coverage on MSNBC will be anchored by Matt Lauer, David Gregory, Andrea Mitchell, Chip Reid and Tucker Carlson.
WMAQ, the NBC owned-and-operated television station in Chicago, will also simulcast the debate live from 6-7:30 p.m./CT both on air and online at NBC5.com. Immediately following the debate at 7:30 p.m. CT, WMAQ will host a live half-hour special with anchors Warner Saunders and Allison Rosati. The show will present debate highlights and analysis, with WMAQ’s political editor Carol Marin live in the spin room to interview democratic presidential candidates and political reporter Mary Anne Ahern on Soldier Field to interview union workers for their thoughts on the evening’s events. WMAQ played a key role in bringing the local debate to a national audience through MSNBC.

Maybe he’ll bring his checkbook so he can write out checks to their various charities (as he did w/the former President).

For a detailed account of exactly who attends these Democrat debates, you must read Ann Coulter’s August 1 piece, “Did I Miss the ‘hip’ Part?”
It is great stuff and a must read.

Aww..my little joke was removed…I didn’t think it was in bad taste..oh well..in any event a Dem debate moderated by KO will clearly be a butt kissing affair…I just don’t see the new “Murrow” talking “Truth to power” to the Dems he carries water for everynight on his show.

Funny, but I did not see the name of NBC’s No.1 newsperson Brian Williams.
Maybe he knows to stay away from a stinker!

I can imagine the questions from Olbermann.
“Who’s the biggest criminal: Mister Bush or Dick Cheney?”
“How many laws has Mister Bush broken so far? How many more laws do you think he’ll break before we impeach him?”
“We all know that both Mister Bush and Dick Cheney should be impeached. But if you could only impeach one, which would it be?”
“When the Fairness Doctrine is passed, should it be expanded to include the Fox Noise Channel?”
“When will we stop wasting time going after incompetent terrorists, and start going after real threats to our country like Bill O’Reilly and Rupert Murdoch?”
