FNC income growth shows 41% growth for Q2…
News Corp. put out a release on its Q2 earnings yesterday (which is when I should have posted this but through a series of accidents it slipped through the cracks here at ICN)…
The Fox News Channel (FNC) reported operating income growth of 41% for the fourth quarter and 33% for the full year, primarily from increased affiliate rates driving affiliate revenue growth. The fourth quarter also included higher advertising revenue on increased rates and additional volume as ratings increased in both prime-time and on a 24-hour basis. For the full year, FNC’s viewership was over 75% higher than its nearest competitor in primetime and nearly 60% higher on a 24-hour basis.

Wow! Money, money, money!!! :)

It’s all those Imus fans who got driven to Fox by his removal. That’s some real smart executives running MSNBC.

So much for the “competition” catching up to FOX.

Should we now replace the name Midas with MURDOCH? He sure has a golden touch. The NY Times must now be quaking in its boots.

Wow, money just keeps rolling and rolling…

More people watching means more money, what a novel approach to running a TV channel.

I can’t wait to see how the rabid left tries to spin this one.
One would think that after ~10 years or so of FNC’s success, the others would realize that such a constant hard left tilt to the news doesn’t sell. It doesn’t sell in talk radio (witness the miserable failure of Err America) and it doesn’t sell in cable news.

Don’t the lefties on this site keep telling us how FNC is becoming marginalized? How the tide is turning against them? Where are they now?

And I wonder how much more revenue than MSNBC came from the “sales prime” demo?

I think the income growth has something to do with the hire of Courtney Friel.
Comment by JMK24 — August 9, 2007 @ 3:09 pm
That’s a different kind of growth, JMK.

There’s no denying FNC’s success. I’m a liberal, but I watch Fox more than CNN and MSNBC. Although I don’t agree with a lot of what they put on, Fox has overall better shows IMO.

Lark, thank you for your honesty. Spud, can we save this post for posterity and pull it out every time that lefties bash FNC viewers as being nothing but braindwashed right wingers?
Comment by bigred — August 9, 2007 @ 6:20 pm
FNC viewers are nothing more than brainwashed right wingers. Old crazy farts that can’t operate the remote control to turn the channel.

Speaking from experience, Me?
If you need help with your remote, let me know… I’ll see what I can do.
