  1. What was KO talking about to bring in those #s.

  2. Wow Blabberman wasn’t able to attract ANY new viewers to his show a day after moderating that debate…what a shame…he came THIS close to losing to Rick “look at me, look at me” Sanchez…

  3. Most likely it was the usual hard-hitting debate with opposing viewpoints for which he is so noted.

  4. Someone mentioned a few weeks ago that O’Reily’s numbers seem to be their highest on Wednesday. It looks like they were right. I wonder if it’s becuase of Miller?

  5. KO should just hang it up.

  6. Interesting stat: Add up all of BO’s 4 opposition overall numbers + 4 opposing demos and he still beats all these 8 numbers combined.

    Comment by Jim — August 9, 2007 @ 7:32 pm

  7. Good key demo numbers for JD!! Woo hoo!! And has 2nd at 10 unlike whats-his-face who gets 3rd….ha ha ha. He’s a stronger anchor at night and without the old dim bulb.

  8. Hay, Mary - what’s the agent’s cut of a professorship? Not much, I bet.

    Comment by Arthur — August 9, 2007 @ 7:46 pm

  9. Ah, all Rick Sanchez could muster was a measly 104,000 in the key demo? I’ll bet 50% of the viewers were only watching to laugh at Rick’s overwhelming charisma and narcissistic behavior.

  10. Ah, but “old what’s his face” will soon be returning to HIS SHOW regardless of JR’s demos. Sorry about your luck, Mary Snow, ha ha ha!

  11. What’s up with Hardball? Once MSNBC’s flagship, it seems to be slowly losing it’s audience.

    Comment by erljr — August 9, 2007 @ 8:36 pm

  12. In the words of David Bauder of the Associated Press, 8 p.m. continues to be “dominated” by “Keith Olbermann” and Bill O’Reilly.

  13. mary snow-who is this “old dim bulb” you make reference to?

  14. Last night as I was watching O’Reilly, I thought to myself, he is going to have a very large demo # as people would be watching to see what his response was to Hillary and the boys comments.

erljr - I have been a Hardball fan for years — in the last few months I find myself deleting it from my DVR on most days as I have put viewing of other shows higher on my list. Can’t say why really, just noticed that I have not watched in a while!

    Comment by Aunt Mary — August 9, 2007 @ 9:04 pm

  15. Erljr, maybe people are tired of seeing “breaking news” on a taped program. I notice on TVN’s (LS) grid, Hardball’s 5pm has 140K….which is better than 98K.

    Comment by Terance — August 9, 2007 @ 9:28 pm

  16. Anyone know anything about Redeye’s rating? Its a good show and a bad time slot (obviously), but I was wondering if they are getting decent ratings.

    Comment by Eric Barnes — August 9, 2007 @ 10:34 pm

  17. I agree Terance. But getting rid of the rerun doesn’t seem to have helped Tucker much. I also think Hardball would do much better in Dan Abrams spot up against Hannity and Colmes. I’ve always thought Hardball would do better in (real) prime-time.

And Aunt Mary: Instead of having fun like he used to, lately Matthews seems angry and bitter. That may be why you’re inclined to hit delete.

    Comment by erljr — August 9, 2007 @ 10:50 pm

  18. Original comment time: SOLID SECOND Keith Olbermann strikes again.

    Comment by Edward Schatz — August 9, 2007 @ 11:38 pm

  19. Eric : Red Eye is a debatable program in my opinion, I mean, I honestly don’t believe a network should get into creating pure entertainment vs. news + entertainment. The program is interesting, but with half the garbage said and some of the oddball stuff otherwise, it probably would be a little over the top for any other time slot, then again, I’m talking from Pacific Time where it’s on at 11 PM.

Anyway, I don’t think I have much to watch at 5 PM anymore between Bill yelling about something, Olbermann being too over the top, or Rick anchoring with his stupid style. But also, does anyone have a second to look back two months to see Hardball’s ratings, I was just wondering how much worse or even they’ve been since then.

    Comment by Chris (clind) — August 10, 2007 @ 1:55 am

  20. Erljr, Tucker is lame and would fit right in hawking gadgets on infomercials. Personally, I’m more interested in what Pat Buchanan has to say anyway. TC just doesn’t seem to make an impact.
