CNN/YouTube Debate: Republican debate date set…
The New York Times writes about a date being set for the Republican CNN/YouTube debate…
It looks as if the Republican presidential candidates, at least most of them, will be participating in a YouTube debate after all. The forum is now set for Nov. 28, the Wednesday after Thanksgiving.
The campaigns of Rudolph W. Giuliani and Senator John McCain have signed on, according to CNN, which will broadcast the event. CNN said it had not heard from Mitt Romney, who has been critical of the format, in which the public poses questions via video sent to YouTube. Mr. Romney’s spokesman could not be reached last night.

Thats good,as I said before we can’t knock the Dems from ducking the Debate on FOX then turn around and say it’s ok for Republicans to avoid one on CNN,
Once again Republicans…yes CNN is going to try and set you up but knowing that ahead of time will help you prepare.

There is a difference in the Democrats refusing to participate in the FNC debate and the Republicans not wanting to participate in the CNN/YouTube debate. The Democrats’ stance is purely political (and baseless) whereas the Republican’s objections have nothing to do with politics and everything to do with the first YouTube debate being poorly run. The Republicans have already shown that a network’s perceived political bias is a non-issue in their willingness to participate in debates.

Damn. I wanted to see people dressed up like snowmen haunting all the GOP candidates. (I like political theater. Sue me.)

Caufield, be sure and let me know if and when FNC “secures” a democratic debate!

^ Thats true however the MSM makes it look like the Republicans are trying to avoid the debates because they don’t want to hear from “regular Americans” so it s a no-win situation for them either avoid it and be labeled as cowards or go on and get sandbagged by set-up questions…so their better just going on and try to make the best of it because their going to have to put up with a biased press for the next year or so..(or next 4 if one of them wins).

^ Tell me. Did ya have a problem when FNC smeared Obama? Btw, what did you think about Newt saying the war on terror was phoney? Did that get reported last night on Hannity’s America? I saw them on stage together. I’m guessing it was canned though..

for some reason the repubs just don’t wanna take questions from regular people. just goes to show ya the repubs have something to hide and consider themselves to be good to face the REAL issues that REAL americans want to hear about.

“for some reason the repubs just don’t wanna take questions from regular people.”
Yea like the Dems are talking to “regular people” and not pre-selected people chosen by their aids before their town meetings or those pre-selected You-Tube questions by CNN.
Do you honestly think Hillary would risk be asked anything from an regular person with out it being pre-screen?
Comment by mlong — August 13, 2007 @ 10:01 am
mlong… don’t forget… regular people = liberal democrats… bad people = everyone else.
Terrance… you mean like how Ted Kennedy “smeared” Obama? Or how something Newt said was once again taken out of context to make him look bad? Well, I am just shocked. Feh.
Comment by ImNotBlue — August 13, 2007 @ 11:57 am
^ Sorry, I don’t speak for the dems, only select people at different times.
Comment by Terance — August 13, 2007 @ 12:55 pm
So then what was your point?
Comment by ImNotBlue — August 13, 2007 @ 4:13 pm
^ Well, I asked Mlong a couple questions and you decided to answer for him.

“Tell me. Did ya have a problem when FNC smeared Obama?”
No more than CBS using the fake Bush National
Guard memos…..plus I’m a little more fed up with the way the rest of the MSM gives Obama the “rock star” treatment and won’t ask him any hard questions and fawns over him…like regarding his religion while FOX was wrong about the Islamic teaching he received..he dose go to a church now where the Preacher is a Black separatists who has made some remarks that Obama would have been asked about by now if he was anyone else.
Comment by mlong — August 13, 2007 @ 7:27 pm
Never mind, ya obviously can’t answer a direct question. I don’t speak for Dan Rather either. Btw, what does he have to do with FNC smearing Obama? Oh right, nothing.
Comment by Terance — August 14, 2007 @ 7:15 am
“Never mind, ya obviously can’t answer a direct question.”
You asked me a question and I gave you an answer..I can’t help it if you don’t like the way I did it.
“Btw, what does he have to do with FNC smearing Obama?”
Just making the point that other MSM outlets have done far worse things than anything FOX may or may not have done against St.Obama..and using fake memos to try to influence a election is a little higher on the list of outrages.
Comment by mlong — August 14, 2007 @ 8:42 am
^ Fair enough. So, do you think Obama has the RIGHT to refuse FNC’s debate based on their smear tactics? For the record, I think he’s the only one who has a legitimate beef.
Comment by Terance — August 14, 2007 @ 9:32 am
Obama can do what ever he wants but the debate is really being run by the CBC with FOX just airing it like they did in’04 and unless he or anyone else can point to that debate being “unfair” to Dems then it just seems the only reason their ducking it is just to appeal to the “Nutroots” at Daily Kos.
