Alexis Glick hosts Your World
Alexis Glick is hosting Your Wold with Neil Cavuto today. Interesting tidbit, in a segment with Ray Hennessey, recently named Managing Editor and Director of the Fox Business Network website, Glick ended it by teasing, “You’ll be seeing a lot of him right here on Fox Business Network”.

I didn’t watch much of the coverage on FOX, but that screenshot alone resembles some qualities of CNBC’s coverage…the live camera shot on the data wall, the “Biz Alert” (CNBC Alert) and the competent anchor…oh wait….well, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad….

Glick doesn’t look very professional in that short sleeved top! And you all should already know her anchoring skills are slim&none. I see Dan Rather just corrected her that the book isn’t a “tell all about Katie.” Wow, what a coincidence! I tune in for 2 minutes and Glick already messed up.

I think she did a very good job. I have seen her several times lately and she appears to be knowledgeable and doesn’t “talk down” to those of us out here that are not power players in the market, but have a modest investment.

“You’ll be seeing a lot of him right here on Fox Business Network”.
She does realize that the Fox News Channel (which she was on when she said that) and the Fox Business Network (which does not yet exist) aren’t the same thing. Right?…. right?

^ LOL
And has anyone ever seen Ray H. on TV before? He used to do a 5 minute daily segment on Power Lunch (the Halftime Report) with Bob O’Brien…to say he isn’t TV material would be putting it lightly. This guy cannot string 3 words together to put together a sentence. He has NO TV persona at all…for Glick to actually say that we’ll be seeing a lot more of him should not excite any viewers, trust me.

Don, I was thinking the same thing when she said that…
I wasn’t impressed with her, but business programming bores me to begin with.

Terance: Alexis is much too low-keyed for my tastes. I much prefer Brenda Buttner or Dagan McDowell as hosts.

Ira, I was watching some of FNC’s live biz special this past weekend..and guess who was out in the wind looking hot with that southern drawl?? Dagan!

I’ve only seen her once, and I thought she was a college girl. Plus she wore “puffy sleeves”, which are apparently in style again? (I don’t know; I’m near 50!). Anyway, she just seems too young and very inexperienced to be anchoring Your World. Plus, Fox has a plethora of business anchors (Buttner, Keenan, Varney, Asman, Casone, and more!) to use as substitutes.

Prior to joining CNBC, Glick worked for Morgan Stanley, where she served as Head of the New York Stock Exchange Floor Operations and became the first woman to manage a Floor Operation for a bulge bracket firm. A member of the New York Stock Exchange since September 2002, she was also one of the youngest women to ever achieve the rank of Executive Director at Morgan Stanley.
Glick traded consumer and entertainment stocks, utility and real estate investment trusts and most notably, the financials including banks, credit card stocks, government agencies and insurance stocks at Morgan Stanley. She was also one of the top producers on the companies Listed Equity Trading Desk from 1998 through 2001.
Glick began her career as an analyst at Goldman Sachs in the Equities Division.
Glick earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Columbia College.
