Morning Joe scratched again and Imus gets $20 million. What can I say?
Comment by Moonbeam — August 14, 2007 @ 5:02 pm
good number for Olbermann last night, probably due to the rove news.. morning joe is in bad shape, bad numbers and the biggest thing that has happened is someone NOT reading a news story.. not very good for the future.
Comment by Chris (My Two Sense) — August 14, 2007 @ 5:07 pm
Shame.. Shameful! For Fox News is more important a ‘Toxic toy alert than 175 dead, 200 injured in a attack in Iraq.
Comment by Rodrigo — August 14, 2007 @ 5:08 pm
Spud, can we get some commentary on the sexual predator story that O’Reilly did last night. He said that after a story he did last week, there were a bunch of tips to the FBI, and the people in question were found dead (of an apparent suicide) shortly afterwards.
I’m sure someone must have written an article on this somewhere… seems like an important cable news story.
Comment by ImNotBlue — August 14, 2007 @ 5:13 pm
I agree with INB. This had to be covered somewhere else in the media.
Comment by erljr — August 14, 2007 @ 5:18 pm
Rick “I’m a big deal” Sanchez finally came down to reality last night…guess he’ll be moving his hands around even more tonight to try and bump up the ratings.

It appears JR and Kiran are beginning to get their act together. They’ve had some solid #’s the past few days!
Comment by A.M. — August 14, 2007 @ 5:26 pm
But JR has been off since Monday….LOL
Comment by Anonymous — August 14, 2007 @ 5:31 pm
A.M.-Jon Klein should be very pleased with Kiran Chetry’s performance at Cnn. After all, she’s a good little liberal. He couldn’t lose with her.

Rodrigo
Special Report has the story of the bombing.
Comment by Kirk G — August 14, 2007 @ 6:23 pm
I think either this site or TV Newser has a typo on the total day demo #s for FOX
Comment by Enquiring Minds Want to Know — August 14, 2007 @ 6:42 pm
Rodrigo,
Let’s get Fox New’s Bagdad Jane to do a live story on the bombing from the green zone.
Comment by elmonica — August 14, 2007 @ 6:55 pm
I don’t know why H&C is not the number 1 cable news show. H&C is way better than the O’Reilly Factor and you would think the base would watch H&C more than the Factor.
Comment by RJ — August 14, 2007 @ 7:07 pm
RJ, it shows a touch of the “liberal” viewpoint, so many conservatives won’t watch since they don’t want to hear the other side. Plus, not everyone is a fan of people yelling at each other.
Comment by Chris (clind) — August 14, 2007 @ 7:22 pm
Rodrigo,
Suprised? That’s why dems think they have an agenda. I think is all about ratings, those old people that watch Fox might tune off if they find out they are reporting what’s really going on in Iraq. Thereby making the president look bad.
Comment by chi — August 14, 2007 @ 7:35 pm
Hey Rodrigo-It is terrible that so many are dying in Iraq. It should be covered. Those are precious lives. Now, to be consistent, don’t you think it a tragedy that 50 million unborn children have been killed in this nation in the past 30+ years? Should we maybe shed a little more light on that as well? I never hear libs that are ever concerned with unborn life. We all demand more coverage of the carnage in Iraq, but it’s funny that the visual realities of abortion are not allowed on tv. Why? Too afraid to see the gruesome reality?
Comment by california dreamin — August 14, 2007 @ 7:38 pm
RJ: I actually thought that Bob Beckel was a refreshing change of pace last night. He was freequently jumping in on Hannity’s time so he probablyt forgot he was the co-host and not a guest.
so many conservatives won’t watch since they don’t want to hear the other side.
Chris: My, aren’t we clairvoyant
today!
Comment by Ira — August 14, 2007 @ 7:38 pm
Has anyone else noticed that Willie Geist’s ratings are consistently better than Joe’s when he hosts the morning show? Hmmmm…
Comment by Anonymous — August 14, 2007 @ 7:47 pm
Willie needs his own show!!!
Comment by JMK24 — August 14, 2007 @ 8:22 pm
No. 6 - you are absolutely right about Rick “I’m the man” Sanchez waving his arms and hands around tonight. Is there a bigger jerk on tv than this guy? To be fair, I cannot stand the way Bill O’Rielly uses his prissy hands either.
Comment by sophia — August 14, 2007 @ 8:30 pm
Rick Sanchez should be purged from the anchor desk. I would take almost any one but him.
Comment by Aaron — August 14, 2007 @ 8:52 pm
Ira : I couldn’t resist, sorry. Really though, I personally know some people that don’t care for the crosstalk on debate programs such as H&C, I mean, some people get to hear enough yelling and debating in their own lives, why watch it on TV?
Anyway, Rick is another one low on my list of anchors, but I don’t know why exactly. Could be the way he talks, I don’t know.
Comment by Chris (clind) — August 14, 2007 @ 8:57 pm
I have a love-hate relationship with him…I think he IS a good anchor, but he just tries too darn hard…i.e. the excessive hand-waving, like he’s an air traffic controller or something. Just chillax, man!
Comment by Anonymous — August 14, 2007 @ 8:58 pm
Hey Rodrigo, don’t you think that several million toys that are harmful to kids is newsworthy? I don’t have kids, but sounds pretty damn newsworthy to me. In your world though, it’s “shameful”.
The Iraq bombing was covered on FOX, as well. By a clue.
Comment by bigred — August 14, 2007 @ 9:42 pm
Um, actually willie hosted morning joe yesterday and actually beat cnn at 6a (acording to numbers I saw)
Again, just some facts please.
Thanks.
Comment by frank — August 14, 2007 @ 9:49 pm
Rick Sanchez is a joke.
Comment by Marty — August 14, 2007 @ 9:56 pm
Imus will make more money this year then msnbc. Lot brains in that outfit. Daaa Dan in charge.
Comment by az wildcat — August 14, 2007 @ 10:50 pm
Good point ‘bigred’. It’s horrible what happened, but it can’t be changed. Why not get the message out and try to save a few lives.
Maybe some people hate kids as much as they do FNC.
Comment by puck — August 15, 2007 @ 4:08 pm
FNC doesnt really interest me.im a senior in high school & i prefer CNN than FNC anytime.besides FNC talks way too much on what they think and doesnt allow its viewers to make their own decisions, inflicting their own opinion to the people watching.i dont like FNC what so ever so i tell all my friends to watch CNN or other ones such as BBC News.
Comment by kristin — August 29, 2007 @ 1:54 am
also to add onto FNC, if they are so great show me some Emmy’s.or awards.lets see one reason…..its not a real news show people!!! people watch it supposibly because the people are hot.ew! so not! and Anderson Cooper needs to up his ratings.i noticed his ratings fall on the second hour, its probably because its a re-run of the first hour, which i dont like.so spice it up.
=)
