Rivera vs. Dellaroce…
Johnny Dollar has the video from today’s Your World where Geraldo Rivera squared off with Michelle Dellaroce over immigration. It got pretty heated…

Geraldo is pandering to the Latinos, plus I think he is using this just to keep him on TV.. They man is not a journalist, he’s a scammer and an idiot.
Fire Geraldo

I laughed when Michelle brought up “Jerry Rivers” and Al Capone’s vault.

Hey everyone,
I don’t think the Laura Ingraham dustup w/Geraldo got as much publicity as did the one with Michelle Malkin.
But PLEASE, go to the link that Spud provided via Johnny Dollar. You will love how she confronts him on his pitiful stance, and how he somehow overlooks the fact that these people have broken the law.
Again, I just feel that once they break the law coming into our country, it is probably easier for them to break more serious laws, starting with SS# fraud. Theirs is not a victimless crime, as we are forced to pay through the nose for their health care and education and the results of their ensuing crimes, in many cases.
Anyway, please go to the link to hear Laura sweep the floor with this has-been: http://insidecable.blogsome.com/2007/08/20/rivera-vs-ingraham/

I like Geraldo. Bringing up Capone’s vault, etc. is childish. Although I disagree with Geraldo, he should not be fired. Are you people who want Geraldo fired the same that pushed for Imus to go? Bring back the I-man, keep Geraldo, and stop trying to silence controversial people.

This has nothing to do with Imus and nothing to do with being controversial.
I frankly didn’t care either way about Imus. I’m just tired of Geraldo’s tabloid journalism and FOX trying to use him as a pundit for all occasions. He’s on every freaking show, plus has his own on the weekends.
He’s ill-informed on many topics and subjects us to his know-it-all demeanor. His 15 minutes should have expired years ago.

I think Geraldo is dead right about the whole event and that most of the others who plain attack him, not the issue, are plain scum. If you want to attack Geraldo on the issue, go right ahead, he’ll take you on, but the lowdown attacks on his past are just kind sickening. Do you win a debate if you say the other person is a joke? NO, you don’t, you come off as bad in my opinion. The main issue with the whole event was that the man was let a low bail, 15K vs 450K, and was allowed to go out and attack again! Also, if we sent him back during the proceedings, does it truly speak well for the “best nation in the world” if we are sending a child rapist back to his country to do more crimes?

bigred, I agree; Fox does seem to be overusing him. He is NOT an expert on all issues, yet as you say, he keeps popping up everywhere. Enough already.
Chris, we have enough problems with the criminal element who are U.S. born, so why we do have to tolerate those criminals who come here illegally as well? I see what you’re saying in this case (low bail was the culprit), but many of these criminals have such long rap sheets they should have been deported YEARS ago, when their crime sprees first began. Why did our country keep them around to inflict even more harm unto our citizens?
And here’s something else that’s interesting, but underreported, for some reason: “According to statistics released last year by Rep. Steve King of Iowa, 12 Americans are murdered every day by illegal immigrants, and 13 more are killed by drunk illegal immigrant drivers. That’s a whole lot more than we lose in Iraq every week.” Actually, the whole article, which lists many other crimes committed by illegals, is worth a read:

I get so tired of Geraldo trying to compare Immigrants of the past..who came to this country legally as part of a system to Illegals crossing the border…uh illegally..their not the same thing.

This fraud is a washed-up has-been with next to no credibility. He should be on MSNBC where nobody would hear his lunatic ravings.

When someone changes his name to a “Latino” name, just to gain favor and publicity, exposing it is not a personal attack on him, it’s just exposing his hypocracy.
Comment by Dee — August 23, 2007 @ 10:11 am
Dee: Let’s clarify:
His real name is Gerry Rivera and yes, either he or WABC-TV , his first employer, purposely changed the first name to Geraldo.
But The name “Gerry Rivers” is basically an urban myth, started by (I think) Michael Savage.

Sorry Ira, not buying it. I hate to admit I’m old enough to remember living outside NYC and listening to “Jerry Rivers”. Didn’t listen much though. Couldn’t stand him then either. Second verse, same as the first.
