FishbowlDC reports that Ana Marie Cox will co-host on Morning Joe next week…
UPDATE: Should have said “co-host” instead of “sub”. Hey it was 5:30 in the morning when I wrote that after going to sleep at Midnight! And my dog ate my homework too..
Broadcasting & Cable’s Marissa Guthrie writes about Katrina Anniversary coverage. I’ll set aside the rather glaring question of why I had to resort to citing three different news articles over the past day to piece together who from all three cable nets will be doing what and why each article had details the others didn’t (of the three articles, Guthrie’s piece was the only one to mention that Anderson Cooper would be in New Orleans for example).
CNN’s Cooper, who achieved notoriety with his impassioned coverage from New Orleans, will anchor Anderson Cooper 360 live from New Orleans Aug. 29.
Soledad O’Brien is slated to anchor Anderson Cooper 360 live from New Orleans Aug 27-28. Three other CNN reporters will be on the scene.
Fox News will have four correspondents in New Orleans this week; MSNBC plans live coverage from the region all day Aug. 29. CNBC’s Scott Cohn will report live from New Orleans Monday through Wednesday.
The New Orleans Times-Picayune’s Dave Walker wraps up who is doing what next week for covering the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
Fox News Channel
Reporters Jeff Golblatt and Kris Gutierrez will file live updates from New Orleans throughout the day Wednesday for Fox’s regularly scheduled news programming. Story topics are expected to include recovery progress, relief funding allocation and levee repair. During “Studio B with Shepard Smith” (2 p.m.) and “The Fox Report with Shepard Smith” (6 p.m.), Trace Gallagher will report on New Orleans recovery challenges. Also on Fox, Marianne Silber will look at “voluntourism” in Mississippi.
