I'm glad they are running it. I was in such shock that day, as I have 3 neighbors who are firefighters and I was hoping someone would run old footage so I could see what unfolded on t.v. as it happened.

I know the events on 9/11 were significant but isn't it time to move on? Is this something we wanna keep on seeing every year on the anniversary? I think it just fuels the fire even more for the terrorist nut jobs that are trying their best to attack us again.

^No, but this calendar date should remain ordinary for all folks, especially those with a good connection to the 11th day of September. The emergency telephone number 9-1-1 has had a rough time since then.

It is time to move forward, MSNBC. For every 11th day of September, there is other news to report and folks with ordinary lives. It's just another day, not September 11, 2001.

Fox News Channel did the same thing last year but had it online. It was too surreal to watch it. However, after six years, the news crawl needs to go.

NO 8 If I wanted to watch the "Today Show," I would watch it on my local channel. I don't much like morning Joe, but it may still be better than my other options at that hour. If "Today" was simulcast, I'd probably migrate back to "Fox and Friends" which I detest.

if MSNBC wants good ratings, first off 30 Rock should simulcast the today show on MSNBC and NBC local instead of Morning Joe, move Joe to 6ET, and move tucker to the 9ET slot and get rid of Abrams, and continue with your stupid doc block

I recorded the reshowing of the Today Show last year. Chris Matthews was on prior to it for, I think, and hour. And he did a great intro. I've rewatched it twice since. It's riveting. And it goes against MSNBC's usual left-wing perspective and anti-war rhetoric. Matthews didn't take the day off. He was on later too. This is one day MSNBC did NOT take off. This is a smart move by MSNBC. It's a lot more exciting than parades and memorial coverage on the other nets. And it makes you think about where we were and where we are as a nation.
Anon, Steve, Arthur - you're the ones out to lunch on this one. Bash MSNBC when they do something dumb (most of the time), not when they do something right (this time).

I’m somewhat at a loss as to why it’s being repeated this year.

Lord, their whole docblock is repeat-city. It's actually thrifty, I guess - recycle, re-use or do without...

They did this last year so I’m somewhat at a loss as to why it’s being repeated this year.

Because putting on live programming, even of the mediocre kind, cost money. Something Nbc is clearly unwilling to do.

God what a stupid idea. I wouldn't be surprised if they started running tape the whole day of programming from previous years...they can become the History Channel part deux.
