Reuters releases Bin Laden tape. CNN frozen out early due to dropping Reuters last week.

The Bin Laden tape was released to the media this afternoon after Reuters obtained the tape from a web trawler in Europe, and fed it to clients at about 3:15 PM this afternoon. FNC and MSNBC, both Reuters clients, used the video and transcript and reported the news from the Bin Laden video.

In a case of really bad timing, CNN dropped Reuters from its newsgathering roster last week. The network had to rely on a transcript that everyone had and then scramble to get footage, which didn’t make it on air until 30 minutes following MSNBC and FNC reporting the latest developments.

  1. I though FNC had a policy of NOT airing the comments of Osama? Have they changed their minds? Just playing into the hands of him.

  4. “a web trawler in Europe”… hahahaha… A friend…

In fact I have the 3 minutes video that Reuters is airing and the entire 20 minutes video…

Bad for CNN… 1.- They dont reply the mail talking about the video… 2.- Reuters was replying… so… All is history now… I cant remember any mail from Fox :P

  5. Have they changed their minds?

No. The tape is a fake!

In fact, today on “Your World,” Cavuto, Bo Dietl and Bernie Kerik were all hinting the tape was fake but probably stopped short because no one in government, especially Michael Chertoff has said otherwise.

  7. Nothing special.. is all religion, islam, and bla bla…

The video is frozen, the image, for some minutes but the audio works. Perhaps terrorists dont have good video processors…

  8. Well, this propaganda tape was hyped to holy hell today. How about, “The Roman Catholic Church in San Diego, in the US state of California, has agreed to pay $198m (£97m) to settle 144 claims of sexual abuse by clergy.”

Oh, you mean to tell me 144 boys were taken advantage of by pedophiles who represent GOD? And this isn’t getting wall to wall coverage? Ahhhh, and thats just in San Diego.

  9. Hardly related Terance. Not even apples and oranges.

  10. Ok, Erljr, I’m guilty! Would you like to discuss why our government released this bin laden tape? You can’t tell me the “terrorists” were waiting for the US Government to finish analyzing before releasing it, eh?

  11. Terance, maybe the released it to cover the arrest of those 11 “current or former public officials” on charges of corruption, in New Jersey… which has gotten coverage… almost nowhere!

Oh wait… they’re Democrats. Then it’s okay. Nevermind.

  12. ^ HA! Thats funny you use a link to the liberal NY Times to say its not getting coverage. Really, I have no idea who is or isn’t covering it. I haven’t been watching much news lately.. With that said, anyone who’s found guilty on either side should be promptly sent to Gitmo for pyramid games.

    Comment by Terance — September 8, 2007 @ 10:01 am

  13. Well, agreed on pyramid games… but nobody is covering this. The NY Times did this story (as you can see by the address) in they’re “NY Region” section… ie local news. Haven’t seen any on the television (and that even includes on FOX).

  14. ImNotBlue, wasn’t ED Hill talking about this yesterday? I really don’t like watching her and quickly turned the channel. But, I’m almost positive yesterday or the day before she mentioned it.. and she had a wry smile while doing so. But, I guess you might be talking about “rolling coverage” where the story trumps everything else..and is on every hour on the hour. I’ve complained on here numerous times about stuff that doesn’t even get mentioned.

    Comment by Terance — September 8, 2007 @ 10:38 am

  15. I don’t watch ED… something about her doesn’t agree with my system… so I couldn’t tell you.

My folks live in NJ… they’re still waiting for this to get a front page story… or to see it on something other than the local news.

  16. Isn’t it odd that no known Democrats are disavowing the Binster’s support?

Binnie sounded like a combination of the KosKidsKrowd and the Ron Paulestinians.
