It pains me to say it, but that’s another good night for Olbermann, but not NEARLY as good as TVN shows it *gasp*

as i just posted on another story
if MSNBC wants good ratings, first off 30 Rock should simulcast the today show on MSNBC and NBC local instead of Morning Joe, move Joe to 6ET, and move tucker to the 9ET slot and get rid of Abrams, and continue with your stupid doc block

lou dobbs doing good these days beating hume in the demo.

No surprise that not including the DVR numbers barely hits BOR as even in the demo the vast majority of his viewers are at the very, very high end of that demo and are far less likely to use a tech like DVR lmao.
Countdown having a much younger audience takes a much bigger hit from it, I wish the demo was broken down a bit more like.
(25 to 39) (40 to 54)
I bet we’d see BOR getting crushed in a 25-39 category.
And for those curious here’s the DVR demo numbers :)
BOR= 396
Countdown= 377

KO is facing Rick Sanchez. Not much of a fight. Lets see what the ratings are when CNN gets a regular host. They need a strong host to get thei ratings up.

i just noticed dobbs with as many in the demo as tucker total

BOB, a DVR is hardly a high tech item. I’m no genius, and it took me about 15 seconds to figure the thing out.

Evidence… or just made up?

Agree w/ #5. It’s basically Olby vs BOR right now. CNN is drifting in the ocean, and Nancy doesn’t have any hot white girls missing this month.
#7: Don’t think it’s the difficulty of figuring out the DVR, it’s the prevalence of it amongst the “older set”.

Olbermann having higher ratings with a DVR is a bad thing as it makes the ads sold in that hour less likely to be viewed… more people watch O’Reilly live than through their DVR, which means the ads are being seen, not fast forwarded which means they are more valuable.
MSNBC is employing every tactic they can to get their numbers up just because they want the prestige to say they beat CNN/FOX… but when it comes down to it, inflating numbers with weird demos and DVR data is only going to hurt them when people who buy ad time see that the people are using DVR’s and probably not watching the commercials.

Nobody, excellent point. One of the benefits of DVR (or even VCR, for that matter) is zipping by the commercials. And the ad people should be aghast that people are doing so, to the extent that you’d think they’d want any recording devices banned (or at least shunned)!

As an old person, I need my DVR for bathroom breaks and catch up by skipping commercials. Fox rox.
