Gutfeld vs Olbermann…

Red Eye’s Greg Gutfeld works in a zinger at Keith Olbermann in his Daily Gut blog…

So you’ve seen the latest message from our favorite goat-toucher Usama bin Laden. In it, he criticizes Americans for reelecting, instead of punishing, Bush, as well as harping on Democrats for not securing a retreat from Iraq. He also mentions global warming and praises Noam Chomsky, the patron saint of the left.

It was at this point, I thought I was listening to Keith Olbermann. That’s when it dawned on me. Bin Laden isn’t just a terrorist. He’s worse. A liberal!

  1. Poor FNC folks just can’t stand that everybody isn’t a repub. These days it’s the repubs that are looking pretty darn stupid. I guess they are learning from the best, the President. What a great leader he is!

  2. Oh, Mr. Gutfield! Hot news flash: it makes ya look lame when you try and lend credence to a phony bin laden tape. But, whatever keeps ya employed, eh?

  3. Oh please, Gutfeld is way cooler than Olbermann could ever pretend to be.

  4. I agree with you Sarah; Red Eye is a fun show to watch before finally turning in for the night.

    Mm-hm…

  6. ^ Jumping on the bandwagon doesn’t necessarily get you a ride into town. Just ask Colin Powell about his phony mobile weapons factory speech at the UN.

  7. He is right, it did sound like something that Bathtub-boy would say.

  8. It is funny how Bin Laden and the Dems/MSM use the same talking points…but thats only because they share similar goals.

  9. All together now:

    Redeye is a comedy show.

They even takes their shots at O’Reilly!

The sad thing is, you probably believe this.

Of COURSE Fox has to demonize liberals and democrats. But eventually everyone, even you, are going to notice that GWB’s innocent civilian bodycount exceeds OBL’s by an order of magnitude.

Enjoy being a dupe while you can.

  11. “Jumping on the bandwagon doesn’t necessarily get you a ride into town.”

That’s alright, Greg needs the exercise anyway!

    Comment by Jim Treacher — September 8, 2007 @ 2:51 pm

  12. Arthur, this is perhaps the stupidest in a long list of posts you’ve made here. Bush isn’t directing the innocent slaughter of civilians. That’s all Bin Laden & Al-Qaeda do.

Secondly, why don’t you read the Bin Laden transcript? It does sound like it’s exactly out of the Democrat talking points. Just like his video released right before the 2004 elections.

Read and compare and then tell me they aren’t saying the same things.

Liberals refuse to blame the deaths in Iraq on the Iran/Syria backed terrorist groups in Iraq who are the ones setting off all the bombs but instead on Bush and the American Troops….hey heres a clue if the Terrorist stop killing people in Iraq and let the new Government there have a chance to work….we can leave Iraq Duh!!!

We’re gonna be waiting forever. they’ve been fighting like dogs since the beginning of time over there and they ain’t gonna stop now. that part of the world doesnt know and doesnt want to know how to act like we do. so if that’s what bush and the repubs are waiting for, you might as well call iraq part of the united states.

    Comment by Me — September 8, 2007 @ 4:05 pm

  15. I’ve never understood when people like “Me” say things like “that part of the world doesn’t know and doesn’t want to know how to act like we do,” but doesn’t understand they’re a bigot. You don’t see that as elitist… thinking you’re just so much better then everyone else? Thinking that they’re not “capable” of being “civilized.” They’re people… not animals.

  16. “Secondly, why don’t you read the Bin Laden transcript? It does sound like it’s exactly out of the Democrat talking points. Just like his video released right before the 2004 elections.”

It doesn’t take an Einstein to figure out why he is saying what he does. Face it if the Dems were in the White House he would be using Republican talking points.

This comparing Democrats to Bin Laden/terrorists is getting real old.

    Comment by myview — September 8, 2007 @ 4:25 pm

  17. How can you not compare when the crap comes out of their mouths is almost identical?

    Comment by bigred — September 8, 2007 @ 5:35 pm

  18. I’ll spell it out once more for you sheep. Regardless of the partisan sniping which goes on in public, both parties are working towards the same goal… and that would be installing puppet governments, stealing oil, laying pipelines, further soiling of our constitution. Haven’t ya ever wondered why neither party can seem to get it right?

    Comment by Terance — September 8, 2007 @ 5:45 pm

  19. bigred: You honestly believe Dems are in the same category as terrorists? Gimme me a break!

  20. Leave it to that moron Spud to even post this garbage here.

Yes, convert to Islam or die, thats what Bin Laden wants the whole world to do, what a liberal!

  24. #19, I didn’t put the Dems in the same category as the terrorists. I said their talking points are the same. Read the Bin Laden transcript, and tell me how it differs from what Olbermoron or the Dems in Congress say.

  26. well greg crapfeld guess what? your right-wing republican party controlled government has yet to capture osama the reason must be the dems have controlled for a few months and messed everything up right? WRONG!!!!!!!! YOU HAD SIX FREAKING YEARS TO DO IT AND YOU BLEW IT AT TORA BORA!!! SO SHUT UP YOU CONSERVATIVE COWARDS

  27. I enjoy Red Eye…the show has improved by leaps and bounds since it first aired.
The political sniping aside, I would take issue with Gutfeld taking a shot at the Daily show. Red Eye is good, but it has a long way to go before it reaches the calibur of the Daily Show in terms of satire and comedy. Greg Gutfeld is a capable host, but he is no Jon Stewart.

  28. Aaron, I hope you have sobered up by now.

    Comment by Goldfish — September 9, 2007 @ 7:53 am

  29. Goldfish… do you picture him actually screaming at his computer monitor, like I do? All red in the face… big neck vein throbbing…

Oh, and wasn’t it Bill Clinton who initially had the chance to either capture or kill UBL? Oh wait, we don’t talk about that… or else Bill will join Aaron in the red-faced shouting department.

  30. ImNotBlue, something tells me you and all the other repubs sit and yell right along with all the nutjobs on fnc. believe me the people I know around where I live that watch fnc are the most unhappy, grumpy people. and OMG, if you wanna get a good screamin match going just start talking politics. forget about a civilized conversation. I personally would like to shake Osama’s hand and say congrats in avoiding capture. Maybe Bush can pull an 11th hour capture before the election.

    Comment by Me — September 9, 2007 @ 10:09 am

  31. “Me”… I would like you to know that currently I’m reclining now in my big leather chair… listening to some old Billy Joel… getting ready for a day of football. I got no time for anger.

    ************************************
    But more importantly… you said:

“I personally would like to shake Osama’s hand and say congrats in avoiding capture.” -Comment by Me — September 9, 2007 @ 10:09 am

Are you that partisan? Do you really feel that way? By that logic, I guess you’re happy everytime a soldier gets killed, or an innocent gets caught in the line of fire, or equipment fails in Iraq… because it helps make Bush look bad.

And remind me again, why is that you guys get mad when we say people like you are just like the terrorists? Apparently at the moment you have the same goals… hide the terrorists, and make the US (and Bush) look bad at all costs.

I just hope you can find water hot enough to wash off the blood you have so gleefully dipped you hands in.

    Comment by ImNotBlue — September 9, 2007 @ 10:20 am

  32. And so, “Me” makes Gutfeld’s point.

27, Have you watched The Daily Show lately? All Jon Stewart does these days is sit there with a smug look on his face and say, “Bush is an idiot” and the audience roars with laughter. I have no problems with the partisanship, I just haven’t seen a lot of original comedy there in a long while.

To me, Gutfeld and Red Eye are a lot less pretentious and because of that, easier to watch.

    Comment by Sarah — September 9, 2007 @ 12:07 pm

  33. Me, the Osama comment was scary. And you are proving Gutfield’s point. Gee, I thought Greg was joking. It didn’t sound like you were.

    Comment by Goldfish — September 9, 2007 @ 1:44 pm

  34. Thank you “me” for perfectly illustrating what I, and Gutfield, were saying. The fact that you hate Bush more than Bin Laden sums it all up. Or do you even hate Bin Laden? I mean, you want to shake his hand and all.

Sounds like you admire him. Thanks for the valuable insight.

    Comment by bigred — September 9, 2007 @ 2:04 pm

  35. Hey liberals:

You always retreat to the “I’m just a comedian” line when Stewart/Maher/Colbert say something harsh, yet can’t take it when a Republican blogger/satirist/comedian does the same?

    Comment by eddiebear — September 10, 2007 @ 10:52 am

  36. ****Bigred - If OBL said pollution was bad, does that mean it’s really good?****

Usually, the retort is “Well, Hilter was a vegetarian, does that make all vegetarians murderers?”. However, the context isn’t environmental impact, it’s politics; and Osama WAS reading the blue-blog playbook. Deal.

A wise person would use some time for introspection.

  37. Shame on Olbermann for putting Gutfeld on his worst person list cause Gutfeld rules!

    Comment by Joshua — September 11, 2007 @ 12:11 pm

  38. First of all, Gutfield needs to get an original line. Right wing talking heads have been drawing a comparison between what Bin Laden and the Liberals say for some time now. It’s old.

Second, with regards to Me having said something along the line of Iraqis aren’t able to be civilized…consider yourself in good company, Me (or not so “good” depending on your viewpoint). It looks like Bill O’Reilly feels the same way. He called the Iraqis prehistorics and primitives and suggested they have the living daylights bombed out of them. Of course, in the same breath he said no more troops and now he he says he wants troops in there for another year. Go figure.

And thirdly, FishOil is right. Gutfield is no Jon Stewart. I’ll add that nor will he ever be. He just doesn’t have it.
