  1. O’Reilly nearly doubles Olby’s demo. Upward Olbermann on the march.

  2. Wow…who knew so many people wanted to watch a replay of 9/11. Interesting.

  3. It was riveting to watch. (I saw the morning ‘real time’ airing.) Even after six years it still showed things I wasn’t aware of or had forgotten.

  4. Beck’s 9 p.m. numbers look good.

  5. Right now Bill O is running a segment to “get the truth surround the war in Iraq without partisan spin” and yet the guest is Tony Snow. A conservative Republican President’s Press Secretary. So much for zero partisan spin.

  6. I think the majority of FNC viewers have Sky Angel, which would probably inflates their numbers.

  7. Goldfish : I guess running on scaring everyone —-less is worth it for the ratings, but I guess we all knew that

    RJ : What’s Sky Angel?

Otherwise, it was kinda interesting to watch some of the MSNBC replay in that I was watching Today that morning and remember much of the coverage. If anything though, this is a reminder that cable news with multiple channels has a number of reasons to exist, and one of those is variety in programming, which is nice when some want to watch a replay of that day and some want to watch O’Reilly scream about some sex offender, Anderson in Iraq, or Grace rip someone’s eyes out with a rusty spoon

  8. Olbermann escaped fourth place out of five by a mere 142,000 viewers.

    Comment by Tom — September 12, 2007 @ 8:57 pm

  9. #4 : maybe they are a little better, but in the demo hes still in 4th place.

Comment by Chris (My Two Sense) — September 12, 2007 @ 9:14 pm

  10. MSNBC should run their own coverage of 9/11. Greg Jarrett was on the air with Chris Jansing. With all the Katie Couric sitings on MSNBC lately, you’d think she was still on the NBC payroll.

  11. Second night in a row that AC360 beats Greta in the demo.

    Comment by Marty — September 12, 2007 @ 9:23 pm

  12. Anyone notice how MSNBC gets their best #s when it doesn’t have their live talent hosting.

    Comment by Alix — September 12, 2007 @ 9:24 pm

  13. Sky Angel is a Christian family-friendly satellite provider. It provides Christian oriented channels like TBN, Faith TV, etc… Fox News is the only news channel they have. And three of their main channels that they carry (FNC, HGTV, and HALL) are in the top 15 in cable news rating.

    Comment by RJ — September 12, 2007 @ 10:21 pm

  14. I too was glued to the MSNBC replay of 9/11 as it happened. It was interesting, because I slept in that morning and missed most of what happened live.

I was struck by how low key & matter of fact all the anchors were. Esp. Katie Couric. From the tones in the voices, it was like just another news story and not the most shocking thing to ever hit our country. Kind of weird in that respect.

  15. Why the hell is Spud including BOR’s LSD numbers, but not any others?

Are you trying to point out just how old BOR’s audience is and how so few of them have a DVR because even in the demo 80% of them are over 40 lmfao.

    Countdowns LSD numbers are 357k

    Comment by BOB — September 13, 2007 @ 2:30 am

  16. RJ,
Good lord, that’s quite a reach to declare that “the majority of FNC viewers have Sky Angel” as a means to attempt to curb their ratings. Good gosh, DTV/Dish/Comcast/Time-Warner/Adelphia rule the marketplace and you posit something that few people have even heard of? The channels you listed are part of most every cable/satellite package and yet you assign it to some - let’s not mince words - Christian-based theme (eeeewwwww, scary right-wing Christians!)?

What next, Zima is the reason Coca-Cola’s market share has fallen over the past few decades? Crikey, I’ve seen spin, but that’s a new one.

    Comment by RW — September 13, 2007 @ 8:36 am

  17. BOB, were you hitting the hash pipe when you made your post at 2:30 am? Spud listed the 8pm numbers, that included O’Reilly and in which he destroyed Olbermann by 225,000 viewers in the LSD demo ratings.

Or maybe it was LSD you were dropping last night.
