Peter Barnes, eh? Haven’t heard that name for a while.

So they can’t announce Liz Claman till her non compete is up? That’s the big get I’m waiting to hear.

I’ve never heard of these people. But, from my preliminary research Nicole Petallides seems to be about 35 and married to a dentist.

It’ll be a crying shame if Brenda Buttner isn’t given an anchor position.

They should get Martha back into business and give her 1pm slot back to the rightful owner, Linda Vester. Damn I miss her.
Comment by Lurker — September 18, 2007 @ 2:44 pm
Linda Vester please return to my tv at once!

I’m apparently really out of it. I’ve never heard of any of them!
And yes, A.M., Brenda certainly deserves to anchor a program.

Who?
Comment by Sarah — September 18, 2007 @ 4:40 pm
Missy and A.M.,
Tne sad thing about Brenda not getting her own anchor chair is that it tells her where her career is headed. She is now aware that she is not on the fast track and will never be an anchor. That realization comes to many who watch their co-workers sail ahead of them.
I am sorry about it, too.
And I don’t “get” Rebecca Gomez!! It begs the obvious question!

Cella, there isn’t room for two red heads on FBN. Seriously though, I predict Ms. Buttner will be doing FBN’s news breaks until she gets fed up and leaves! And that Rebecca Gomez needs to find a voice coach fast.. or Rita Cosby’s surgeon for a voice box tune up.

“Bulls and Bears” is by far the best of the Sat. business block..Brenda was on Cavuto earlier today and I swear her eyes looked puffy like she was just crying or something. She even picked a fight with one of the other guests..
I’ll have to write Ailes and demand they give Brenda a spot! Hey, it can’t hurt, right?
Comment by A.M. — September 18, 2007 @ 5:24 pm
Why would they not give her an anchor chair? Maybe they will still, who knows? She should get a show in primetime if you ask me.

Jenna is really great! I have seen tons of her previous work and is not only beautiful, but professional.
Comment by Nicole — September 18, 2007 @ 6:00 pm
Maybe she doesn’t want to be an anchor. Lots of work and preparation to do it day in day out. Being senior business correspondent and anchoring Bulls & Bears is enough for her?

it might be that brenda is simply very happy where she is.
plus once the fbc starts brenda and terry should be on fox news more.

Nice to see ex-TechTVer Peter Barnes back on air. Nicole Petallides is a solid anchor from the 2 minutes I get to see her on WTAE Morning News.

But Cody Willard? I’ve seen him on the weekend shows and I don’t get it.
Comment by biggy smalls — September 18, 2007 @ 6:54 pm
We’ll have to see how much “business” remains on FNC after FBN launches. As you point out, she does have Bulls and Bears, and Terry K. has her program, so maybe they will each keep their programs and take on additional anchor duties with FNC. They’d probably have more visibility that way than if they were on FBN.
But Terry and Brenda are both very knowledgable and capable, and hopefully will have high profiles whether at FBN or FNC.

Terance: As Biggy said, Cody Willard has occasionally appeared on the Saturday morning business shows. I also nothing about the others.
I’m still waiting for their specific timeslots and especially interested in that 6-9am shift. Isn’t Don Imus still unemployed? :)
Comment by Ira — September 18, 2007 @ 7:54 pm
Ira, I’d be rather disappointed if FBN put on a retread like Imus. What does he have to offer the biz community? Has he been taking a crash course while in exile?
