What’s hot/What’s not: 9/22/07
What’s hot:
FBN’s announcements - Fox Business Network has been in the news almost every day this week with talent hires. The near daily announcements has kept FBN in the industry write-ups which is always good when you’re launching a network and want to create buzz before the launch.
HD in the news - High Definition was already in the news recently with CNN HD’s launch. This week CNBC became available in High Def and word leaked out that Fox Business Network will also be available in HD when it launches.
Not hot:

How could HD not be worthy of a mention? While it’s debatable the quality and whatnot, we’re starting to see the networks begin HD operations and broadcasts, not to mention channels, in the near future and the announcements came largely this week. Anyway, rather bland week in remarks to the hot/not choices, though probably not much here due to man wanting to keep us all down from hearing about the squeeze (Thank you, thank you!).

Have to agree with Greatlyappreciateit that the only real HD story is FBN. What CNBC is touting as HD seems to be a too little too late solution when it comes to competing with the FBN’s true HD picture.

HD is really only good for sports. Not much else is really that great in HD. It’s just a tad bit better picture with a long delay.
