Alexis Glick named Vice President of Business News for Fox Business Channel…
Fox Business Network announced that Alexis Glick has been promoted to Vice President of Business News for the network…
Alexis Glick has been named Vice President of Business News for FOX Business Network (FBN), announced Kevin Magee, Executive Vice President, FOX News. Glick reports to Neil Cavuto, Senior Vice President & Managing Editor of the network with whom she will work on all aspects of FBN’s business programming.
In making the announcement, Magee said, “Alexis has made a tremendous contribution in determining the strategy and content of FBN and its core properties, and we look forward to her serving as one of our main editorial voices on the network.”
Glick added, “I’m proud to play a role in developing business news coverage for FBN, which provides me with the opportunity to utilize my strengths in news anchoring as well as my Wall Street expertise.”
Prior to joining FOX News Channel (FNC) as a Director of Business News in September 2006, Glick was a correspondent for NBC News’s Today Show, where she appeared regularly on the third hour of the program. Before Today, she was a senior trading correspondent for CNBC and reported from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange for CNBC’s morning show Squawk Box.Earlier in her career, Glick was an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley where she headed floor operations at the New York Stock Exchange. A member of the NYSE since 2002, she was the first and youngest woman to manage such an operation for a bulge bracket firm, and served as one of its top producers on the Listed Equity Trading Desk. A graduate of Columbia University, Glick is a member of the Board of Directors of the College Alumni Association.

Ummmm, does this mean FBN’s finally “wised up” and decided to nix the idea of Glick being an on air personality?!! If so, thats great news. I’m not taking anything away from her biz knowledge/management skills. However, putting her on the air is an embarrassment and lowers moral for those who know how to read a teleprompter.

Apparently she’s getting the MORNING SHOW!! At least Squawk Box has nothing to worry about now…

I’ve seen her reporting at the NYSE and on Squawk. She’ll be fine. The teleprompter reading will sort itself out. She should have one at home practicing until she gets it down.

Glick is well qualified sure but I hope she stays off the air - she’s been awkward and bumbling on Fox & Friends this week.

She was pretty good on Fox and Friends this morning. At times I thought she was a better fit then Gretchen, who seems to be absent quite often.

Gretchen is on vacation this week.

I wish Alexis all the best on her new gig.

Suggestions for Alexis - you should hire Don Imus to do a morning show on FBC. All his fans are waiting for his return so you’d have a built-in audience. I’ve been watching F&F but it is not my cup of tea. I miss Iman & the boys.

If FBN gave Imus a morning show, they would probably take viewers from F&F (and I mean a lot). I never got Imus in my market on radio so I occasionally watched him on MSNBC

Keith Olbermann is getting desperate for attention when he names “Alexis Glick” as one of the WPITW for working at FOX Business News.
