CNN previews Planet in Peril on radio…

Beginning this week, CNN Radio affiliates have access to one-minute special reports from a 20-part series anchored by CNN’s Anderson Cooper in conjunction with CNN Worldwide’s Planet in Peril, a sweeping four-hour television documentary about issues threatening the planet and its inhabitants.
A new Planet in Peril radio report from Cooper will be released each weekday starting Monday, Sept. 24, and will continue through Friday, Oct. 19. Each segment will post in the special Planet in Peril section of the network’s affiliate site at www.CNNRadio.com, and also will be available in the 12:07 a.m. news feed.
Planet in Peril takes its audience to places where environmental change is not a theory or just a forecast, but a crisis happening in real time. Cooper, CNN’s chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta and Animal Planet host and wildlife biologist Jeff Corwin will focus on four main issues that threaten the planet and its inhabitants: climate change, deforestation, species loss and overpopulation. Planet in Peril, filmed across four continents and 13 countries, airs over two nights on Tuesday, Oct. 23, and Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. (ET/PT) on CNN.The Planet in Peril radio features also will be available on CNN.com’s podcasting page, which can be found at http://www.CNN.com/podcasting/, and at CNN’s dedicated space on iTunes. Additionally, CNN Radio programming, including long-form programs, can be heard streamed for the Web on the CNN.com home page.
