10 years of Hardball…
Eat The Press’ Rachel Sklar notes Hardball’s 10th Anniversary last night…
Happy Anniversary, Hardball! Chris Matthews looked pleased as punch last night talking about the show’s last decade and introducing the memory-lane clip reel. Aw! In spite of the fact that he told the ladies on The View that he thinks the biggest election issue is the fact that a woman is running (really? Not, say, the Iraq war?), I couldn’t help but feel myself come around to him a bit, just as he said he couldn’t help finally coming around to respecting Hillary after all these years (hey, Leon Weiseltier, that nagging housewife thing DOES work!).

Yea, ten long years of bombastic but overtly biased bloviating. With ratings as low as Matthews has, I don’t know why MNSBC has kept him that long. Some things are just hard to explain.

I saw an advertisment for hardball where they touted matthew’s experience/perfection at cable. Ya know, like saying something really stupid before yer off the air.

Did anyone notice that last night Olbermann mentioned his own “ten year anniversary” at MS-NBC? (Thank godness, no hokey montage). You’d think Olbermann would just let Chris “Tweety” Matthews have his day in the very dim cable spotlight.

So, have the last 10 years been screwy or is it just recently that CM has lost his mind?

Hardball used to be very intense… Matthews would get into screaming matches with guests… similar to the way Sean Hannity gets into it with guests on his program at night. MSNBC made Matthews tone it down a bit for some reason, and the show has never been the same, at least energy wise. It’s very dull now.
