Pop-up Hell…

Recently, I’ve been getting some email complaints about all the pop-ups. Some emails have said as many as four…others as many as eight. It’s a Blogsome thing. I don’t like it any more than you do. I have a nasty feeling its tied to hit count because it used to be just one pop-up and now it’s multiple pop-ups. The higher the hits the more pop-ups. In which case it means ICN is a victim of its own success. But I feel your pain…

  1. That’s the odd thing really, I never ever got pop-ups on this website in the past using Firefox and just in recent memory I’ve had ones popping up even with Firefox’s pop-up blocker and AdBlock Plus extension. Darned Blogsome, though I guess this is free for you, or is it?

  3. Bah, everyone should be using IE7 or Firefox. Both have popup blockers.

  4. You know Rip… I’ve only recently noticed some of the pop-ups getting past IE7’s defenses. It was really good for a few months… but of recent… everyonce in a while, one will escape.

  5. I use FireFox and I NEVER got popups before–and my popup blocker IS enabled… but the past few days it’s like assault by popup whenever I come here.

  6. It’s not just blogsome. I’ve noticed more popups getting through on other sites also. But so far this session I’ve seen none. Using IE6 with McAfee popup blocker.

  7. NoScript on Firefox… haven’t seen a single pop-up on this site (or many others), ever.

  8. I have popup blocker, but then I also use a DNS Server that enables you to block sites… so whenever a popup opens, it’s usually filled with a message saying the site was blocked… when a popup gets through, I add it to the ban list… so even if it pops up, I still don’t see the ad…
