  3. MSNBC continues to be the third string. Dress it up anyway you want, it’s still embarassing.

  6. Hey! Steve, I worked at a Circuit City for a while… it doesn’t look anything like CC. We didn’t have nearly that much neon to go round.

  7. Looks like we should have an interesting new look to see in the coming weeks, between the Nightly and MSNBC.

  8. Craps over everything FOX has (perhaps even the Fox Report), although they don’t seem to even try with sets or graphics. I still like CNN’s NY Set though.

  9. FBN set is nice. You will see on Monday.

  10. Wow! That set is a complete and total LETDOWN! It looks all “fluffy” and almost playful, something that would suit The View more than MSNBC…

  18. Where do you tell Keith Olbermann that you want a Venti Cappuccino with non-fat milk and a blueberry muffin? I hope they have Kenny G playing in the background!

  19. I swear, it looks like some McDonald’s / McCafe Restaurants here in Germany… bad.

    Comment by Moe — October 12, 2007 @ 4:20 pm

  20. I think they hired the Interior Designer from W Hotels to create the studio. Will baggage carriers be available upon check-in?

    Comment by W — October 12, 2007 @ 5:09 pm

  21. A imaginative and modern (CNNi-ish) set is shot down by Fox “throw a few tv’s in front of that window” News fans… what a surprise.

    Comment by Mike Beckham — October 12, 2007 @ 6:41 pm

  22. The widescreen video wall is sweet. However, I thought the studio was just for news? Looking at the top screen cap, this set also appears to be used for Jeaopardy?? (j/k!)

I’m not a Fox fan and I think the set sucks. It’s gaudy, too bright, and not comfortable to look at. The best sets have always been the simplest, and the truth of the matter is Fox, at least until recently, have had the best sets. Unfortunately they, like CNN with they god awful set in NY for American Morning, and now apparently MSNBC, have decided that flashier the better.

  24. looks like the test kitchen for iron chef 2055

    Comment by pageone — October 15, 2007 @ 10:16 pm

  25. As an NBC fan, this is not good. It looks like some type of club or fancy restaurant. It looks it was done by the same set designers as Deal or No Deal, and I’ll bet you the Deal or No Deal effects are going to happen as well on-air. For example, when breaking news happens, the blue lights are going to turn to red.

    Comment by Anthony — October 17, 2007 @ 4:05 am

  26. For God sakes get Joe Scarborough a chair that doesn’t hurt his back.

    Comment by Jeff White — October 22, 2007 @ 8:10 pm

  27. has anyone watched dan abrams lately?? Yikes. I watch about 10 seconds and my eyes hurt…

It is just too much, MSNBC and NBC!!!!!!! With the constantly-flashing logo, be it on the Today show, or otherwise, I can’t concentrate.

More proof that my tv needs to go.
