FBN on Verizon FiOS…

Newsday’s Richard J. Dolan writes about FBN’s upcoming launch and notes that Verizon FiOS will be carrying the network on channel 94…

DirecTV, owned by News Corp., will bring the business network to its 16.3 million subscribers. The network will be available to nearly all of the 13.4 million subscribers nationally on Time Warner Cable. In the New York area, the network will appear on Channel 43 on expanded basic, just above the level with only broadcast networks. Elsewhere it will be on the digital lineup.

Verizon’s FiOS TV, with 515,000 subscribers nationwide, will carry the network on Channel 94 on its premier lineup, which most customers have, spokeswoman Heather Wilner said.

Cablevision doesn’t have an agreement to carry the network and doesn’t comment on the status of discussions, if any, regarding new channels.

O’Reilly on Leno…

From an emailer who stays up later than I do…

He just pedalled the lie again that he has four million viewers. He was referring to why Fred Thompson wouldn’t want to come on his show and expose himself to his four million viewers. You and I both know he averages a little over two million. So where does he get his numbers? Can somebody fact check this man please?

Well if he did say he had four million viewers I expect he’ll be “fact checked” on Countdown next week…

Update: It’s been noted in the comments that O’Reilly is adding his 8pm and subsequent repeat shows together to come up with the four million figure. I’ll make no comments on the legitimacy or illegitmacy of this methodology because, frankly, I’m not that well versed in the intricacies of ratings research to know the accuracy of such a claim. I’ll leave that to the folks at Nielsen.

But it seems to me that if it’s good enough for O’Reilly maybe everyone else should start adding their repeats with their first runs.
