FBN Live on the floor of the CME…

This morning, Jeff Flock, FBN’s Chicago-based Correspondent, gave viewers a tour with the first-ever live and wireless roving camera on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) - or on the floor of any Chicago Exchange. This provided viewers with a unique look at the CME. Reporting, while moving from pit to pit. showed a comprehensive look at what’s setting the price of commodities and moving the markets. Flock also interviewed Terry Duffy, Chairman of the CME Group, live from the floor of the CME this morning.

Does “Main Street” even care about the CME? Better yet, do they even know what the CME is?

Well, the segment was intended to explain what it was….

This is the first time I’ve seen how CME actually works. I found it fascinating, and it stimulated my interest. It’s like being in college and neglecting a subject you’ve not understood, until you have an Aha! moment. I trade stocks, but never cared about something as mundane as cattle and lumber futures, until this piece sort of made it exciting and fun.
The more FOX demystifies a subject, the more people will study the subject, the more audience FOX will build. And sometimes that means getting to the bare basics.
