The abuse and misuse of countdown clocks: Example #149
CNN put up a countdown clock to Planet in Peril’s premiere. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Countdown clocks are routinely abused and misused.
Update: Note the green CNN logo. I think some broadcast folks at Rockefeller Center are probably calling the cops to report a theft…

I don’t have a big problem with clocks, but counting down nearly ONE HUNDRED HOURS before the event is just insane!

I thought something was wrong with their logo. I took a picture cause I thought they were having tech problems…
Oh well I guess they are hopeing for high ratings when this thing airs.

I like the idea of the “green” CNN logo but the countdown clock is lame.

I like the green “CNN”. Clocks, eh.

I wonder if the show will live up to the hype of “97 hours until…”
Bad idea to build up expectations - I doubt there will be much new that hasn’t been expressed before by Al Gore and other global warming activists.

It’s about more than just climate change hence the involvement of Corwin and Gupta.

#7 - Yes, you’re right. Global warming is one of the issues the series covers, but not the only one.
Well, hopefully it will live up to a countdown clock.

The “green” is to show their “rapport” with the environmental movement.

I’ve been surprised at how many people here seem to think that PIP is all about global warming. Anyone watching the commercials for it or have watched the previews on AC360 should know it covers more than global warming. Surely people wouldn’t come here to post negative stuff about something they really don’t know about?LOL!

SHANE #11-If it’s from you, we know it’s just something to say everything else is worse than FNC

Does Sesame Street even HAVE a constabulary? “Yes, officer, I’m calling to report a theft. Someone stole the color GREEN from me.”
Comment by Arthur — October 20, 2007 @ 2:53 pm
Maybe Anderson Cooper stole it while he was visiting?

Well…. the Grouch News Network logo is suspiciously… green. Not that that means anything, of course.

I thought the CNN logo was green because of Ramadan.
