  1. While it is obvious that FNC’s weekend line up struggles in many ways, why are they messing with F&FW? They had gone through so many hosts and finally found a group that worked, IMO. Paige, Kelly, and Gregg do well together. Ainsley is adorable and genuine, and I don’t mind her. I just liked Paige’s off the cuff remarks. She is a good balance to Kelly and Greg. I wonder if this is a permanent change or just another test of host chemistry.

They started the afternoon changes last week. We had Julie B., Gregg Jarret (I think), Courtney Friel (ugh) and someone else whom I don’t remember, doing FNL. It was a nice change from Fox online and Big Story weekend, both of which I don’t care for. I happen to like Gregg J. and Julie B. I could do with out Courtney. She is best used online.

    This is interesting.

  2. So they finally got rid of the awful Katherine Herridge!
Was there a press release about all of this?
I am a regular viewer of FNS at 9 A.M.(Central) on Sunday morning.
Will that no longer be on? Opposite Meet The Press, etc.? They got rid of the elegant Tony Snow, as I have noted here before, and put in their golden boy, Chris Wallace. So this is the result. To me, this was the one major mistake Roger Ailes has made in his programming. Now they must live with that decision.
Molly Henniberg (spelling?) has been doing a great job on Sunday.
This is all very surprising news. I hope someone can help me sort it all out!

  3. So, are these changes somewhat permanent or just for this weekend? Also, I find it funny how FNC was ripping on other nets a while back about running tape on weekends… But, every time I flip on FNC at 3pm its Hannity’s America, The Line Up, or Ollie North! Btw, did he do a special on Iran Contra yet?

    Comment by Terance — October 20, 2007 @ 9:39 am

  4. Okay, I had it wrong. I watch FNS on the regular Fox station, not FNC. Geeze, maybe I will get it straight eventually. However, my mind has not changed about Tony Snow and his removal from FNS.

  5. Thanks for the update… I always record Beltway and News Watch… PVR reset, and ready to roll.

  6. What are they putting on in that giant hole between 4pm to 7 pm? Is this also due to some football or other games today?

    Comment by Chris (clind) — October 20, 2007 @ 10:16 am

  7. One question America may be asking:

    Where’s Uma?

    Comment by Bob — October 20, 2007 @ 10:20 am

  8. #6. For the 4 PM to 7 PM, they’re having the same arrangement as last Saturday. Fox News Live Weekend with Gregg Jarrett, Julie Banderas, Courtney Friel, and Griff Jenkins.

    Comment by Foxfan20 — October 20, 2007 @ 10:51 am

  9. Yep, there they are - Brigitte and Page.
FNC tried to make Catherine Herridge a star, and it just didn’t work.

    Comment by Cella — October 20, 2007 @ 12:05 pm

  10. Why is Page being wasted doing FNL? She needs to showoff her personality on FNFW or take Gretchen’s job.

    Comment by Lurker — October 20, 2007 @ 12:36 pm

  11. I understand that was important to change some of the people around but not this drastic change.
All those rerunn what a mistake.
Ollie North needs has no business being on Fox anylonger.
Who is making these odorific desicions.
They must have farths in their brains

  12. I hope it’s not permanent? I like the Big Story Weekend and I used to like Studio B weekend. Having said that I do like the 3 hr FOX News Live Marathon with 4 of them - seems quite fun!

  13. > Ollie North needs has no business being on Fox anylonger.

The new season of War Stories begins soon. I imagine it will get an afternoon time slot. I see no reason to rag on a program that talks to veterans of WW2, Korea, etc. They are leaving us at quite a rate, and preserving their memories and insights via interviews is preserving history. War Stories doesn’t get much attention, being a weekend documentary usually about events of more than 60 years ago, but I hope it continues for as long as there are stories to tell.

  14. Terance: My Comcast remote control shows the old lineup next weekend. Of course, always subject to change.

For this weekend the good news is a second airing of “Fox News Watch.” Bad news: no reruns of “Red Eye.”

    Comment by Ira — October 20, 2007 @ 2:19 pm

  15. Lurker, I’d have to agree completely, Page doesn’t really seem like someone they should use in FNL anymore after being on F&FW for awhile. The network honestly needs to find some new hosts though, I mean, with two leaving years ago and some being consumed for other means (Page (hopefully), Carlson)

    Comment by Chris (clind) — October 20, 2007 @ 2:19 pm

  16. Ira, my feeling that The Lineup and Kim G. will be cancelled soon.. frankly, I’m really surprised its lasted this long.

    Comment by Terance — October 20, 2007 @ 2:40 pm

  17. “LIVE From Shingle Creek Resort — Hannity & Colmes have your pre-debate analysis!”

There’s a debate this weekend? Eek.

  18. Jamie’s blog or show website said:
    This weekend:
    • ‘FOX Online’ is pre-empted this weekend, but you can catch Jamie on ‘FOX News Live’ on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon

    Comment by Richard W. — October 20, 2007 @ 6:23 pm

  19. Why does it seem like Courtney Friel has been on all day today? She was on the 12-2 show, did headlines & then the 4-7 show.

Do the higher-ups at Fox really think she’s that good? Or is the horny, virgin male segment of viewers that sought after a demographic group for advertisers?

    Comment by Blah Blah Blah — October 20, 2007 @ 6:50 pm

  20. I really like Ainsley in the morning with the guys…Paige wasn’t bad, but I like Ainsley better. She has subbed several times before. Suzanne Cenna is doing the news updates during F&F and its nice to see her (like Ainsley) doing something other that overnight updates. They have a lot of untapped potential.

    Comment by Tyler Roberts — October 21, 2007 @ 9:38 am

  21. Has Uma Pemmaraju been demoted again? This sucks!

    Comment by Bob — October 21, 2007 @ 10:43 am

  22. i agree with blah blah blah - i was in and out doing saturday errands and every time i walked in, there was Courtney who does not belong on a news program at all - she’s an airhead and must be someone’s “pet” wink wink

as for Page and Ainsley, Ainsley is like “Page lite” - Ainsley sort of resembles Page physically (although not as beautiful) but is not nearly as intelligent, articulate, funny or quick witted - i don’t get fnc programmers…

    Comment by lulu — October 21, 2007 @ 11:29 am

  23. So are these changes permanent, or just for this weekend?

While I’m currently p*ssed w/Mort and Fred (they’ve been calling anyone against illegal immigration “racists”), I believe the “Beltway Boys” garned about 1 million in audience each week at 6 p.m. Why would Fox be messing with their time slot?

And I, too, believe Page was a better fit for the F&F-W program, and don’t think she should be moved to the lesser watched afternoon programming.

    Comment by Missy — October 21, 2007 @ 11:40 am

  24. #24. I think they are permanent, especially with what I’m hearing on Fox News Live with Gregg and Julie. They’ve been talking about the show as if it’s permanent. That’s a good move on FNC’s part.

    Comment by Foxfan20 — October 21, 2007 @ 12:58 pm

  25. FOX is running more tape than normal because they don’t have enough people to work. It’s a direct result of FBN. Things should settle down once they hire more people, which they are doing.

    Comment by Nobody — October 21, 2007 @ 2:12 pm

  26. I agree with the comments above - I don’t like the F&FW changes; Ainsely paired with the monotone & sanctimonious Kelly Wright should be dubbed “The Blandest Morning Program on Television - It will make you want to go back to bed.” I’m as mystified as the other commenters about their continued use of Courteny Friel - she is cleary a moron. Who knows if these changes are permanent, but I bet the ratings for this weekend will stink like they did last weekend.

Comment by Enquiring Minds Want to Know — October 21, 2007 @ 3:19 pm

  27. Number 26,
I agree with you about Kelly Wright.
    IMO, he needs to go.
I liked Adam Housley in that spot. He substituted one day.
He and Greg Kelly were good together - sort of a matched
set. Kelly Wright is just not a good fit. ( Speaking of fits, hmm, he barely fits in his pants these days._

  28. What is with the musical chairs / co-host roulette on Fox & Friends Weekend?? IF it’s vacations, then the hosts should say “I won’t be on next weekend as I’ll be on vacation” or that they’ll be on location or whatever. Tell us IF you’re not going to be on. Don’t leave us hanging and wondering WTF is going on.

I’m not amused with the bottle blonde triplets (Ainsley, Suzanne (who’s a bad xerox of Donna Fiducia) and Courtney). I do NOT want hosts on these shows that I am old enough to be their mother. I want shows hosted by people who have actually lived life.

I don’t know when the last time I watched a whole show of Fox & Friends Weekend was. IF the REAL gang (of Page, Greg, Kelly, Rick) aren’t on, I won’t watch the show. They all have to be on or I’m sleeping in cause 4am is way early to get up to watch a show with insipid people that I do NOT like.

Roger & Uncle Rupert - STOP screwing with shows that have a good cast.

Oh yeah - FNC needs to get rid of that couch on the F&F set. I keep thinking a stripper pole is gonna rise up out of the floor. LOL

  30. Well on The Beltway Boys and Fox News Watch websites, it says that 2pm and 2.30pm respecticly are ‘Special Times’ Would that mean it is for one week only in the wake of Fox Business lanuch. One insiders know…..

    Comment by Thomas — October 22, 2007 @ 1:26 pm

  31. According to TV Newser, the SVP at Fox is “tweaking” the schedule for weekends to see what works. He might try putting Studio B back and getting rid of the t@a girls and the sleaze (Geraldo and Guilfoyle). How about some real news on weekends so I can start watching again.

    Comment by Dee — October 22, 2007 @ 9:06 pm

  32. it’s crazy to change sunday at 10am with uma and eric
they’re very good together and have done pretty well in the ratings. Uma has a great presence and is just beautiful.

  33. Shine needs to look at the big picture (no, not the tv show) … Go after ABC’s disgruntled NASCAR viewers, especially since the season’s over in 4 weeks and people are clammoring for the Fox gang … Get those guys on the weekend shows … People will watch, since they’re bailing on ABC …

Oh yeah … FNC needs to STOP doing the close-up shots of their t&a girls shoes, showing off their scary feet …

  34. Will need to reset my recorder for Beltway Boys’ new time slot; would like to see Special Report recast during evenings before midnight.

  35. Uma Pemmaraju is not just beautiful; she’s good and she has class. Just what Fox needs a touch of now and then.

  36. Can someone direct me where to find out what happened to fox and friends weekend. Wheres paige hopkins and kelly wright? I thought they might not have gotten along with Greg Kelly? Also, these past two nights Feb 28th and 29th John Gibson is not on whats up?

    Comment by lynne — March 1, 2008 @ 3:46 pm

  37. Please, please, please get rid of the two guys on Fox and Friends weekend. They are idiotic and embarrassing. When one subbed for Brian K during the week, he joked about Steve Doocy’s son smoking pot–Steve was visibly upset.

How can we get through an election, war, economic collapses, and, God forbid, terrorist attacks with these two adolescents. Allisyn is great–let her choose her side kicks. You got rid of the female bimbos, now lets go for the guy bimbos–combined IQ– room temperature.
