I was watching Rick Sanchez till he had his media matters moment, and they had on that fellow what's his name, that called Juan Williams a "Happy Negro" That was it for me, I thought Sanchez had a core before that incident.

Oh yeah Morning Joe, what I said before, I can't recount how many times.

Can't wait til KO starts adding Rick to WORST PERSON. If he keeps adding the people who beat him in the ratings...it won't be long before Spongebob & patrick make the countdown.

Well... either him or Willy Wonka.

I can't imagine too many other people thinking it looks good.

ImNotBlue, I remember seeing a pic of Olbermann in the "inside story of ESPN" book, where he was applying his own make-up...perhaps he is still doing it?

Obama... it has been noted time and time again over at Olbermann Watch that Keith looks orange. Don't know what it is... maybe too many carrots. But it appears as though this is a frequent problem.

I finally got to watch Countdown's Monday show. Two suggestions Countdown producers: first, tone down the make-up on Olbermann, he looked really orange that night. Second, if Olbermann is going to do segments where he is standing (like on SNF) he needs to get on the treadmill or push himself away from the buffet tables (or both), that gut ain't pretty. Overall I thought the graphics where an interesting update, seemed sparse, lighter, like the set. I thought it worked pretty well.

Sanchez has not consistently beat Olbermann in the ratings but he's only been on for a few weeks in that time slot. It took Olbermann YEARS to get to number 2 in the ratings in that time slot. And for "Gramps", Sanchez has beaten Olbermann in the ratings Before there were fires in SoCal. Let's see how long it takes for Olbermann to start attacking Sanchez on-air in-between his attacks on Bill O'Reilly.

Gramps:
Always looking to defend KO, I see. If it was indeed the fires, then why isn't your hero out there on the front linew with the rest of the real reporters? Or, is he braver by sitting in a studio in NY and hurling the 1197th insult at BOR?

Though Sanchez has done surprisingly well, Olbermann almost always beats him. This is even better than usual for Sanchez. It's the fires. Paula Zahn would also do well when there were big stories.

You guys do know that Sanchez is a real newsman, unlike KO who is just a lunatic mouthpiece of the DNC. This is why Rick is doing so good, I mean while Rick is out on the frontline of the CA fires KO is talking about Valery Plame, if KO were to go to the fires he would need a skirt to hide under.

Every now and then Sanchez beats Olbermann. I'd have to go back and check but seems to me KO usually beats Sanchez.

I haven't really been paying attention to the ratings of Rick Sanchez, but has he been beating Olbermann consistently? If so, has the DBM been writing about his "ratings surge" and/or his "lock" second place?

KO plays to the lunatic fringe left, Fox plays to the right. Big difference.

Yeah if there's anything Fox is known for, it's a calm well reasoned advocacy of conservative values. It's not like there's a slang word named after one of their hosts because a propensity to state the most outrageous things then add a question mark.

God I hope that was sarcastic enough.

The problem with Olbermann’s program is that it plays to a specific audience. There’s not much room for growth.

The same argument has been made both ways for Fox News, and it hasn’t seemed to hurt them.

How about OTIO? Rick Sanchez is picking up ratings. What gives?

It should be interesting to see what becomes of his programming if a Democrat wins the Presidency and the Democrats gain more control in the Congress…he won’t have much to rail against except the Congressional minority.

Eventhough Sanchez is posting some incredible numbers (never thought they'd be that high), what else can CNN do with Campbell? She is already getting pid buku bucks. Where are they going to stick her??? At 6 pm? at 7 pm? at 11 pm? Not going to happen. It's going to be interesting to see what happend if Rick's numbers keep growing once Brown is slated to start. Could be fun.

#1 - Yeah, I've been wondering what CNN will do if Sanchez is able to maintain second place...mabye break the 1 mil mark in total viewership.

Lou Dobbs is getting very compeditive at the 6pm slot. Perhaps CNN will re-think moving him to 7pm??
