Laura Ingraham joins FNC…

FNC announced this afternoon that Laura Ingraham has joined the network as a contributor and also as the O’Reilly Factor and Hannity & Colmes’ Primary substitute host…

Leading talk radio personality and best selling author Laura Ingraham has joined FOX News Channel (FNC) as primary substitute host of The O’Reilly Factor and Hannity & Colmes, as well as a contributor, announced Bill Shine, Senior Vice President of Programming.

In making the announcement, Shine said, “I have been an admirer of Laura’s work for quite some time. She is a welcome addition to the FOX News family.”

Ingraham added, “After years of guest appearances on FOX, I couldn’t be happier about the opportunity to add my voice to FNC’s stellar lineup.”

In addition to hosting her own syndicated radio program, Ingraham most recently authored Power to the People, which topped The New York Times and Amazon’s bestseller list shortly after its debut. She is also the author of New York Times bestseller Shut Up & Sing: How the Elites in Hollywood, Politics…and the UN are Subverting America (September 2003) and The Hillary Trap (June 2000).

Prior to the launch of her radio career with The Laura Ingraham Show in 2001, she served as a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and Ralph K. Winter on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. After clerking, Ingraham worked as a white-collar criminal defense attorney for Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

  3. What about Rich Walsh? He filled in for Sean usually.

  6. Excellent news. She’ll be a perfect sub-host for BOR. Hopefully this will mean no more lame repeats.

  8. .
I saw here on Fox and Friends this morning and no mention of her leaving so I doubt she will go anywhere.

  9. What else does Mr Shine admire of hers?
I’m sure its more than her work that he admires.

  10. Excellent, congrats to Laura Ingraham! She’s far better at working an interview than Malkin could ever hope to be. I just wish O’Reilly would use a liberal sub once in awhile such as Henican. I also think I’ll like Ingraham with Colmes much better than Lowry. Smart move, FNC…what took you so long? ;-)

  11. In a weird way when she’s subbing BOR she’ll be competing with her ex lover Keith Olbermann. Nice soap operatics in the offing.

  12. : ) So Happy!

  13. I like someone elses idea of having Gut sub in for BOR but Laura is A+ too.

  14. #11, welcome to the really small incestuous world of cable TV ;)

  15. I agree #10…FNC should use Henican more often.

    Comment by A.M. — October 25, 2007 @ 4:56 pm

  16. #14 - Yup - Henican would make a great full-time fill-in for Colmes.

Laura Ingraham will do a great job filling in for O’Reilly and Hannity.
One small thing I wonder about - will she ask that the b-roll she has verbally objected to (the half-naked women kind) in the past be shelved when she is doing the show?

  17. “when she’s subbing BOR she’ll be competing with her ex lover Keith Olbermann”

Well she has in the past..and as always she beats him in the ratings..nice way to rub it in. LOL!!

  18. Macjoubert - How do you know Laura Ingraham and Keith Olbermann are ex?

  19. A nice non-hire for CNN and MSNBC. It is best to keep the bad, the wicked, and the evil isolated on one channel.

  20. Good luck, Laura and please don’t grin like you’re getting goosed a la Malkin.

  21. Woo hoo!! I love Laura..

Hopefully she will eventually get her own show. I think the 10 p.m. slot would be perfect for her. Kick off Greta, who only wants to report on the Anna Nicole Smith, stories, and missing blonde caucasian girls. Laura would bring a breath of fresh air at the 10 pm slot! I know that I would even stay up late to watch her…

  22. Nah Gramps, Elmo ain’t miserable & angry. lol

  23. This is great news. It took too long to put this in place.
    Rich Lowry is so boring.
And I have never been a Michele Malkin fan. She burned too many bridges and has been left out in the cold. One must be careful not too be too proud. Yes, Geraldo was disgusting, but something went amiss for Michele.
Laura is bordering on arrogance, and may need to tone it down a bit. But I am really glad about this appointment.

  24. My prayers have been answered. Great that Malkin is gone and Ingraham is on!

  25. I believe Laura will get higher ratings than Bill, Laura isnt afraid to tell the real truth and go after the crooked democrats like Oreilly is.

  26. When Bathtub Boy beat BOR’s rerun on Friday that must have really gotten the brass moving, then, when he rubbed it in with “get used to it, Bill” on his show, Laura could have gotten anything she asked for. I guess the rerun boycott on Friday had a very positive effect. In Laura’s words. . . PTTP!!!

    Comment by Ricky — October 25, 2007 @ 9:10 pm

  27. Malkin is getting screwed. I hope Laura doesn’t ever interview Ann Coulter. Those two “nasal ninnys” would sound like fingernails on a blackboard. Screech owls are easier to listen to.

  28. Malkin-Laura-coulter ,Music to my ears.

    Comment by mike — October 25, 2007 @ 9:59 pm

  29. This is excellent news. And as Ricky (#21) states, the FNC higher ups must have gotten the message that we don’t want reruns on Fridays! While I liked Michelle Malkin, Laura is at least as good, and will make an excellent substitute (and maybe even permanent) host of The Factor and H & C.

And #21, I think that’s why they hired Greta. She’s a lawyer, coming to fame during the OJ trial, so that’s the types of stories she covers. Kinda like Kimberly. She rarely covers anything political, although I believe she’s traveling with Laura Bush right now. But her coverage of that trip will be general interest in nature.

    Anyway, congrats to Laura Ingraham!

  30. Congrats to Laura I love her. She deserves this.
