October Numbers: Morning shows…
There’s been changes on all three networks in the morning program department since October 2006. CNN replaced Soledad O’Brien and Miles O’Brien with Kiran Chetry and John Roberts. Don Imus got fired and Morning Joe took over. Gretchen Carlson took over for E.D. Hill on Fox and Friends. Of the three programs during October 2007, only Fox and Friends posted an increase in Total Viewers over October 2006, up 8% for 7-9am. American Morning was down in Total Viewers by 3% and Morning Joe is still working on getting traction as it was down 31% from Imus’ October 2006 levels.
October 2007
7-9am:
Fox and Friends: 876,000 (314,000)
American Morning: 427,000 (160,000)
Morning Joe: 238,000 (70,000)
(numbers are Live)

Morning Joe down 31%, so looking forward to Dandy Dan’s uplifting management tome telling me not to believe my lying eyes….
Fast forward October 2006 plus 6 months, Imus in the Morning challenging for 2nd place in morning ratings. Morning Joe doesn’t come close. Lookout MJ, Elvis in the house, effective December 3

Imagine “Morning Rose” in that time slot, it will do much better than morning Joe even Tucker will do better. The writing is on the wall.

Morning Joe is BORING! Imus was grumpy, but we CARED about him and his causes! Why should we care about Joe and Mika? They even took John Ridley off for speaking HIS mind! Which is ironic because he BRAGGED on Huffington that he had taken Imus’ spot! Anyone know how Boomer if doing over at WFAN?

The new set looks like it was designed for children with the ‘happy colors and graphics’ and I hate the way they stand around at the end smiling like Matt, Ann & Al ugh. I still hate the site of Mika. I used to like Willie but even he sucks on this trainwreck. There is nothing on in the morning worth my time so I let the kids watch Sponge Bob which is much more entertaining.

joe is a horrible interviewer. he’s boring. the show is unendingly tedious. the chemistry between mika and joe is non existent. the set is too glitzy, and the camera angles make me nauseous. other than that, everything is just dandy! all those closet Imus watchers will bolt on decmebe 3rd, and there will be #2 people left watching…joe’s wife, and mika’s husband (if she has one),

No surprise that Morning Joe is failing miserably since Imus fans won’t watch MSNBC anymore. I actually liked Joe okay at night but he’s out of his element in the morning where a personality, intelligence and quick wit are required. Mika annoys me. Imus made the job look easy when it is not.

Give Imus a place to hang his hat and a microphone.
He doesn’t need a fancy studio.

Weren’t Robin & Co numbers stronger than Morning Joe and, if so, where is it mentioned?
