I think there is a direct link with Morning Joe’s low ratings and MSNBC daytime’s lower ratings

That does make sense, randy. I just wish they had provided the Y-to-Y for those hours in the list too.
However, in the “Morning Programs” section… there is a perfect illustration of why percentages in regards to ratings are bogus.
Look at the ratings for “Squawk Box” on CNBC. It’s up 56%! That’s huge! Except when you look at the actual numbers, you’ll see they only had 101 viewers… and this year 158.
So if you say, they’re up 57 thousand viewers since last year… that’s only… “Eh” good. But an increase of 56% that’s “WOW!” good.
That’s why I think reporting simply on the percentage gains is only… “Eh” good.

As for MessNBC’s daytime ratings, I just don’t think you can overestimate the Imus factor. Everyone who had a book or a record out knew Imus could “sell product,” especially if he endorsed something. When he told us Imus freaks to watch something, a lot of us did. Except for Matthews, you couldn’t make me watch them anymore.

I don’t get the ‘appeal’ of Joe Scarborough. And it seems with the ratings, other people don’t either.
While MSNBC is faultering during the day, the 25-54 demo at night is becoming quite impressive.

Today, nov. 10th, O’reilly tried to boast of oct numbers and drill nbc for low numbers. Spin as usual with O’Reilly. He failed to acknowledge that msnbc was up 24% while he was up only 4%. Typical

Will, please read the post I made earlier.
Percentages are crap, if the numbers don’t back it up. Also, you’re only looking at the demo… but whatever.
O’Reilly: 489
KO: 290
Let’s make it simple. Would you rather have 489 dollars, or 290 dollars?
PS
It’s November 7th… not 10th yet.
