FBN first with wireless roving camera on Chicago Merc? Maybe not…
From an emailer…
Liz Claman and David Asman’s show this afternoon, FBN was crowing about having the first live wireless roving camera on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Well, one would think that Claman might have recalled that more than a year ago, while she was an anchor at CNBC, she herself spent two hours on the floor of the Merc with just that technology, talking to traders ahead of a Fed decision that day.
Update: FBN’s wireless Merc presence will be on an ongoing basis. So there’s a substantial difference between a one off like what happened on CNBC and what FBN is going to be doing.

Hmmm… Maybe the emailer didn’t know that the cameraman Liz had back then was hooked up to a wire?

FBN is really pushing hard to get stuff… they had Mike Huckabee on at 7:30AM live, with Alexis Glick, in studio… and then he was on again at 4PM (live) with Neil Cavuto on FOX News in studio… Now could you imagine if FOX were NBC? NBC would have made damn sure to let their higher profile people get their hands on the former Governor first, and they would have forced the “new guys” to take the scraps… Kudos to FOX management for not pulling that kind of stuff with FBN… even if they get this little tit for tat stuff incorrect, the synergy and lack of infighting at FOX is going to help FBN… they really don’t need to be “first”… they just need to be managed better… and all indications I have seen tell me that they are definately sharing resources, and whoever is available first gets the first shot, no matter how high or low profile the guest is… I wonder if Zucker has noticed that while he has been watching FBN and FOX News?
